Oct. is a great time to give the game a try. I held off just because of the feedback and with this news, I'm tempted to play.
The only reason I had stopped is because at the beginning when you are in that Fire Station, I had left the station and took out some bad guys headed towards where a helicopter was down (smoke). On my way there, I died, and when I spawned, I was back at the Fire Station. I assumed I had to go and fight all those baddies again on the way. But later I found out they stay dead. So I plan on going back to it.
Still selling the bite back edition so would assume the new characters and more are still coming.
IMO, I think they took the time to get this update right. No going back if they rushed the update. Now that it's out, I suspect that DLC every ONE is waiting for...is next.

Played for a couple hours. Performance mode definitely feels a lot nicer for a FPS. One suggestion, turn off motion blur entirely once you enable performance mode, cleans up the image considerably.
The new controller options are nice as well.
It's ultimately still the same game, but I'm glad we finally have much improved performance and controls. Forgot how great of a seasonal autumn setting this game has, nice to be playing this time of year.

I still want this to basically become a first person State of Decay with Vampires.

I have played this for at least 5-6 hours plus with friends and the waifu before I stopped because the drops in frames when traversing the open world was horrendous. I just reinstalled it and will try it again later.
