They're not giving up on this are they.
If it cost them $50,000,000 to make it, they got some work to do. They would need to sell 714,000 copies to break even (not including Game Pass).

I am still going back to it, but I need to FINISH more games that I have.

Same. I'll visit the game eventually.

Played some when it went 60FOS. Now I'll wait for them to hopefully add more content/side quests. Still think they can take this in a SoD direction and have multiple groups around the map you can interact with.

I think they're sticking with this in part because it is supposed to be part of a shared universe with Prey, Deathloop, and Dishonored.

They are still selling the upgrade version which means they have to release the DLC.

Well, Phil said this game is here long term with full support. And while the game didn't resonate with the hardcore and metacritic, the majority of gamers on Xbox, and with Game Pass, don't know any of that. They are casuals. They will browse the library for a game and buy (or game pass) Redfall and play it. Probably enjoy it.

I think many of us forget that we are not the only gamers.

If you look at Bethesda's patch update, this is at the end:

We're continuing development of The Hero Pass and we're excited to share more about Redfall's new heroes and other updates later next year.

Gamepass allows devs an infinite amount of time to patch and fix the game up from launch as there's no penalty since owned by MS and also once it is done, might get a second wind chance through word of mouth. It's like a weird double edged sword, devs might rush out a product with luck chance to revive if turns out good 1+ years later. Of course better late than never IMO but don't think this should be a trend.

Devs already rush out products, release patches afterwards and day one patches. platform holders and pc already allow an infinite amount of time to fix or alter their games. But for many budget and support from the community and or publisher will be a reason if it continues.

It could be a benefit in many ways to a dev be it first party or third. But not all games on game pass are permanently there, some are free for a few months, and they’re gone and some return, GTA and RD heave returned like at least twice, I doubt that hurt Take2 in any form.

You’re so full of it. Almost all games are rushed now days released before they’re actually ready. But nope, GP gets blamed again.

Show us on the doll where Microsoft touched you…

Assuming you are like me and you are like devs, they want their work shown in the best light possible and work to the best of their abilities. I do not think Game Pass nor PS Plus is used as a crutch to push out unfinished games to finish over time.

In fact there is a website tracking Game Pass games by Metacritic scores and they are of high quality.

Sorry, but come on.

Forget that idiot trying to use Game Pass as a negative. This stuff started way before Game Pass. It has been happening since the 360/PS3 era and has just got worse overtime.

If you look around at industry vets sharing their experiences it isn't even the publishers fault a lot of the time. Devs don't want to take responsibility for tasks. They want to take days/weeks to complete things you can do in an hour or two. They flatout refuse to use logical time saving ideas. Etc.

Nobody cares anymore. Games development is no longer a labour of love. It is just a job.

Why don't they ever do this with healthy stuff like water & organic eggs.
