No it wasn't, entirely... but people didn't see the "vision" that MS had for the console. They just saw DRM policies they didn't like and the "always" on requirement.
MS could have also presented it better. Anyway, not the topic for this thread, this is about the PS4's new 1 hour share plan.
Does that 1 hour include buffer time
For me, it'd be a deal killer.. . I haz slow interwebz
i haven't seen.. but I have, at best a 4mbps connection... so any sort of digital delivery of a 20-40GB game for me to play won't happen in an hour. Streaming would be extremely low res/quality. So as a result, this is something I don't have any vested interest in.
Hmmm....I do not know. I recall Sony saying you need 5mbps (1MB/s) for a good experience with PS Now, so you might be ok. With it being a free feature at least you can try it out with no commitments.

hold on, so ps now has ridiculous pricing and has low resolution in multiplayer games, yet this will be free and work just fine?
makes sense.
everything that's "free" is not always bad. look at PlayStation Plus "free" games every month. i'm just saying... i won't say that the service will be perfect, but ANYTHING at this magnitude is most certainly a great thing and a revolution to playing together
FYI, PlayStation Now is currently in beta. you refer to it as if it is complete.

no one said it needs to be perfect this early, I'm one of the only ppl on this forum I know of that used PS now and enjoyed it and see the potential, but as my opinion remains, it needs alot of work.
Well to be fair, someone else mentioned that PS Now works great in its current state.
My view on this feature is that it sounds great. But if they could allow but limit local download, it would be better. It's probably too complex to do that. I don't know.
that's fine. but, going off your original post, and the issues you presented, i thought it be best to give you an example of what a finished service can entail (PlayStation Plus monthly games) even when its free. therefore, I thought it was a bit premature to compare and pass judgement based on your experience of a free beta service (PlayStation Now) to a completely different service (Share Play) that is final, yet free.
all I am saying is, even to the most pessimistic, even if Share Play doesn't turn out to meet every single player's expectation, just because it's free does not mean the service will turn out bad as both a service or feature to gamers just because you had a bad experience some place else.
no and noplaystation now is free? Not for me. And share play is final? So people are using share play?
So Share play will be like an hour long demo where you can invite your friends to play your games?
ok i found a source related to the interview. misinterpretation from one of the sources though. seem invites can be sent more than once but for different games.

yup, and save your progress, too. not entirely certain, but i think you can send out more than one invite to the same person after a set period of time. i have to find out where I got the information.
Well, it's better than NOT having this as an option.
It may give people on the fence about certain games a better impression of those games than what a short demo could present.
It's cool and a bit meh too.
That is crazy talk. In a world where people b**** about 100Pixels a streaming service doing 720P should get some biblical backlash.
This isn't a bad feature to have. I still wish we got to see the family share plan play out on the One.
