Well put in a couple hours and it’s good, better than expected but not great. Some of the missions are laughably short and you get way too much gear at times. At moments I was swapping out the same gear a few times within a few minutes.
That being said all the characters are fun to use, and I do not understand the hulk criticisms at all. He’s really fun. The combat can feel too chaotic and button mashy, sometimes it’s hard to see all the enemies with so much going on so you resort to just attacking and hoping to win. It does have that annoying part of it where most of the time while you’re fighting one enemy another is trying to shoot you in the back.
I don’t know, I’m rambling but I had fun with it. Looking at as a mua type game makes it better because the combat has that shallow button mashing quality to it. I do really with they had just made a single player game though. All the negative’s are the result of trying to make it a destiny game. My favorite parts have been the opening levels that were story focused

Quick update, one of the missions that is more of an open area is a technical mess even on the pro. Framerate is terrible on 4k or performance, and twice the game has crashed. I actually haven’t made it through yet, last time it crashed on the mission complete screen lol
One more quick but super important positive I want to point out is that after putting in some time with all the characters I think they all play great

They just all have their own style with Hulk brute forcing, Iron Man flying around the battlefield, Black Widow is more finesse, and Ms Marvel kind of being a mix of finesse and force. It keeps changing but I think my current favorite is Black Widow

Played about 2 hours, I like it but I think Hulk needs to take less damage, they don't need to worry so much about balance in a game that iisn't PVP just make it fun and keep things more true to the character. I liked Thor's gameplay from the A day section and Kamala Kahn is a lot of fun to play as and I had absolutely no interest in using her based on the footage. She's faster than hulk and easier to use, Iron Man and Black Widow feel pretty good to use too you just have to get used to the different move sets. .
Well, at least we can play Ms. Marvel in the meantime. She is my favorite character since childhood after spider-man. Wolverine is a close third

Played more today and leveled Hulk up a bit more, it is fun and I'm enjoying it I just wish Thor was playable in the rest of the beta, I don't think we can play the A day section again either so that bums me out a bit lol. They really do need to make Hulk a little tougher, he does take more damage than he should IMO but heel powerful and it's fun picking up two enemies and slamming them together. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it looks on PS5, so far I've only had one section where it slowed down and it was pretty significant but there was a s*** ton of characters and effects on screen at the same time.
One thing I will say is a negative is that almost all of the missions seem very much the same and I hope that's just because this is a beta and we aren't stuck constantly having to break servers or stand in areas so Jarvis can hack systems.

One thing I’m sure of it like any other game with loot, this game is going to get patches early and often. Even more so considering it’s getting post launch content and based on the beta I’m betting it will have technical issues.
Also like other loot based games those patches tend to be controversial with the changes and nerfs. I’m leaning more towards waiting to see how all that plays out before buying

Watched some gameplay the other night and didn't really look that great. Camera shake was insanely annoying but otherwise graphically looked really good. I'll probably still give it a try during the open beta but not holding out any hope. As I said before these characters do nothing for me. Why can't we just get a game like this but X-Men?
I hear comparisons to Anthem... and well I don't need the PS version for my Spidey Senses to start tingling.
Played using Black Widow last night for the first time and she's actually really good, so far all of the characters are fun to use just in different ways. I really like the smoke effect they used for the explosions I just wish it stayed on screen a bit longer.
