Official Thread Street Fighter 5

Have zero issues with the game aside from the dot pattern on character models. The game would look better without it. I'll do a review for next week.

I was watching Val get owned last night on twitch before i went to bed ;) . However watching his footage sold me on the game. already purchased it . Can't wait !

It might be the biggest waste of an exclusive money bag in ever though.
because it has server issues at launch? Nope not 4 fans of the series we are happy to have the biggest cross platform gameplay game in the history of video games...oh it's the best current fighter 2.

yes I noticed that blocky crap as well wth? I wasn't sure if it was because I play on a 4k set..

I can't review the game at least until it gets its story mode in June. I do know server issues aside..that I enjoy it very much in the gameplay aspect.

No, not even as far as server issues, that's normal stuff that will get situated soon.

It's just dumb in that they dropped cash on it to push the development earlier.. but then they rush to release a feature incomplete game early anyways?

If it wasn't exclusive, the PS4 version would still likely have been the default FGC version regardless of whether or not an Xbox version existed. Basically the only thing they accomplished is losing a ton of sales from Xbox crowd and gained cross platform with the miniscule PC population.

And I wouldn't call it the biggest cross-platform game in history, it's not a big game on PC first off, secondly I'd say off of the top of my head on PS4, Rocket League is bigger and I doubt SF V will ever match it on Steam, let alone PS4.
....

Anyways, I'll join in and get my ass kicked around when I find a good deal.

Capcom wasn't exactly flush with cash so it made sense from their point of view. From Sonys I see nothing that makes it more of a waste than every other paid for exclusive. Using the PS4 version at a tournament is hardly the same has having it exclusive.

Rocket league is not in SFV's league nor is it WHAT I SAID cross platform gaming.
This is the biggest cross platform gaming launch in gamings history.

Using a weaker console version wouldn't make sense(if it was available) and I am waiting on a link that says Sony paid Capcom for it 2 be a console exclusive.(I don't think so)

They already released it on a weak console so what is the difference?

Shake, shake, shake is right. Shake those dollars out of gamer's wallets.

No wonder Capcom was hush hush on content leading up to release.

The funny thing is that a bunch of free DLC is coming soon. Should have just delayed the game an extra few months. It's February anyway. It's not like there is a fall/xmas rush to launch games before Call of Duty or other holiday triple-A come out.

Why the hell is it so difficult to make a proper fight game pad?!???
You what was a great controller for fighting games? SNES!

Nice d-pad, diamond formation buttons in a tight space so you can pull off combo button presses easily, and responsive shoulder buttons.

Yeah, it doesn't have double shoulder buttons like recent controllers, but SNES gamepads were great.

I take back what I said about the character designs earlier in this thread/other thread.

I just watched a bunch of videos, and when they're in motion, they look spectacular. They're very overt designs modeled amazingly, as long as they have that fabulous animation to back it up! The stills look strange, but only because it can't capture what's going on.

As for the online debacle, Val, replace SFV with the letters MCC, from the other thread, and you can almost reply post for post with yourself. :p

Cross-platform isn't new... FFXI must have had at least 20 people that could connect!? Jk

I just want to put this here.

Going back and rereading this, its both great and saddening how our expectations have changed.

The start of the generation, it was an injustice for a game to be missing features/lacking/needing to be patched.

But as time has gone on, the majority of us don't care any more if an update is released. Driveclub happened, Unity happened, Wit her happened about 8 times, Battlefield... Etc.

This game has launched and some people will love it as it is. The mechanics seem tight, and it is going to be the new standard for tournie's. That is $60 worth right there.

For others, its Driveclub/The Order again.

I really am liking the Hori its like a more floaty SNES d-pad with a smooth finish Intellivision .
But wanna snag a SF X Tekken Pad as it is almost identical to the Saturns.
I swear Val! Id love for you to take a pic of all of your controllers spread out! I think I have 3 lol.

Do you keep all your gaming stuff?

I decided that I will wait on this one. I tend to be a single player guy. I enjoy fighting through the arcade mode with different characters and difficulties and such. I feel this will be like KI was in the beginning for me, cool but lacking. Hopefully they add a proper arcade mode with the story mode this summer.

Yeah, don't get why they just didn't delay the e release to make it awesome. I can't see Sony wanting Capcom to deliver a half baked exclusive. I would feel a little robbed if I was Sony and paid for exclusivity.

It was along the lines of either having the game release much later with the base content and not getting it into the hands of the competitive scene early enough for the Capcom Pro Tour, or get it out early to the competitive scene and roll out the base content a little later for free.
