I've been enjoying the crap out of this. There is s good deal more depth in the fighting than I thought. Just wish you could block.

Agree about the block, either that or a dodge, there times when you basically can't avoid taking damage if positioned wrong as far as I can tell.
Strange that they removed sprinting from 3, it would be welcome.
Still, best in the series imo.
Cherry can run and Adam can Dash. Cherry is the most fun if you like speed and combos. She's the most varied and has fun aerial attacks. Blaze is fun to play cuz she looks like a smokin' latina. Mmm.
Ok, after playing through the story with both Axel and Blaze I'll revise my stand on blocking, it's not needed if you git gud at the defensive special... it's actually pretty beautiful when everything flows, trying to get your health meter back up after specials and using defensive specials at the right moments.
Cherry is a blast to play with. Played through the story with a friend last night and we had some good combo action. In some cases we were able to juggle bosses so they barely did any damage lol.
Quick tip: if you are thrown or get knocked back, press and hold up and jump and you land on your feet. This will stop any fall damage.
Quick it: If you throw a pipe or other weapon at a bad guy, it will bounce back towards you on a hit. You can catch it mid air by hitting the pick up button and you can do it over and over again with some weapons. It can be a fun way to hold off a wave of bad guys.

I was doing that a lot to kill some fools. Then I caught a pipe thrown by an enemy and was pretty hype from that.
Played through story with Axel, Blaze, Cherry and Floyd.
Not sure if just me, but Floyd is OP as hell lol

I think it's because Cherry is a combo/juggling machine with her dash attack. It racks up your combo multiplier very quickly.
Yeah, but for some reason I perform an offensive special instead of a defensive every so often, not sure why, doesn't happen with other characters. It breaks the flow getting hit instead of breaking through the enemies attack. She also can't throw for s***, the elevator and goo levels become much harder when you can't just throw enemies off.
Any other unlockable characters? I found a wiki page that listed a few others besides the one that I unlocked in my initial play through.
I think you can unlock all the characters in retro form from SOR1, SOR2, SOR3 as well.

Cherry is awesome. I thought she was OP and Floyd was s***. Guess it comes down to play style! Mark of a well crafted game!
Yeah, it really is a masterpiece imo.
I'm hoping for DLC, I could play this forever if they kept pumping out new levels.
