Official Thread Sunset Overdrive

At least it would sell better than Ratchet and Clank. That said, let's hope there is a sequel, since that will surely help everything.

MS should have marketed this game a lot more! A lot of people don't even know about it. One thing Sony has always been better at! Some of their biggest titles have only had online marketing.

Yeah it's a shame. A sequel must happen. Hell it's even hinted at in the game during a standard sidequest. And...
clearly during the ending

spent a few hours with this yesterday and i'm just not feeling the love for it.

looks fantastic and plays ok, but boring to tell the truth.

I really didn't like it at the beginning either, so maybe you just needed to stick it through. It certainly does have its share of boring/repetitive content, but also some really amazing missions as well.

agreed.. some stuff is a grind, but there are some great missions throughout :) I have no clue where I am in completion, but I did LOVE the first Fizzy boss fight.. that was awesome

VG charts doesnt include digital or bundle sales
Not to mention they're notorious for getting their numbers wrong. Usually under tracking, and sometimes over tracking. There's a reason why TXB had VGchartz banned. Just look the numbers for PS4 and X1 on their site. It seems apparent that they're way behind with their guesstimates. To think they have a subscription service now.

The first handful of hours are probably the weakest in the game (like many others), because you haven't unlocked the best traversal moves yet, a lot of different things to do in the world haven't opened up, and you're not going to see many types of enemies yet either.

Game is awesome, easily one of my favorite exclusives this year.

That's good to know. I would never judge a game after playing just the first few hours of it. I'm looking forward to playing Sunset Overdrive probably next month.

320,000 it seems? Not too bad....right? I sure hope not, cause this game deserves a massive success!

Season Pass people, the weapons pack DLC released yesterday. I downloaded it, but spent all my time on Geometry Wars and didn't try it.

We don't know how many copies it sold.
which is why i LOL at sales

NO one every knows exactly, and argue like they do :)

This game is wonderful fun. Tons of content and playability that far justifies the full admission price. If it drops to 49.99 or lower, I dare say no one should really pass up at least trying it.

Truthfully a surprising game.

Just a heads up. Costco Canada has it right at $40 and for Black Friday RCSS will have it for $30.

Those numbers are about what I expected considering the install base of Xbox One. That being said, I wish the numbers were higher as well, it's a good exclusive. It could benefit from more to do when the game is finished though. Four player Free Roam with objectives to do should have been in this game.

I avoided almost every bit of media to play this fresh, there was zero indication that this thing was a tower defense game, I hate that genre, do you need these amp things to beat the game?

Still no sales numbers from MS or insomniac I see.

I just posted a rumor in the general discussions thread that MS has already greenlit SO2, and will keep it exclusive. Seems like a no-brainer but we'll see.

I can see this game plummeting in price, so I'm going to wait it out and snag it when it gets down to $29.99, but I'd really like to play this asap. Games like this seemed rare on Xbox last gen.

I'm not even totally sure what this game is about but I couldn't wait to play it after E3, but I just finally bought the X1 and really can't afford to buy a full priced game with Christmas coming up :(

I got a Jet Set Radio vibe from it, I know it's probably nothing like that but I felt there was a style going on that just felt refreshingly rare in todays gaming world. Is that what this game feels like?

I do not see the game anywhere near top of chart, so it certainly ain't a big seller, how well it did is not clear. I certainly hope it does well, as I like good games to sell well (regardless if I like it or not, or on a platform I do not own).

SUnset going Mulitplatform is good news for gamers, but if MS wanted to keep the next game exclusive, it means they see potential in the game & developer, & also the game must be doing decently. EIther way is fine by me.
