Switch 2 - 2024/2025

All the games we have a digital.
I usually went physical with Switch since the first party games retained decent value, but after GameStop changed their policy for Pro rewards expiration, I lost probably $20+ in rewards. With that I'm pretty much done shopping with them and will probably go digital for everything unless there are extras included with physical.

I'm a little worried about rumors of LCD instead of OLED to keep prices low. Now I've only used my Switch docked so screen doesn't matter. My only hope is save on LCD to beef up internals and allow dock mode to do 4K and HDR. I want my Pixar quality first party games.

I just want a bright vibrant colored screen in handheld and capable of doing 4K HDR docked. They could even sale 4K upgrades of their games 🤷🏻‍♂️

Doubt it, that camera would be a huge gimmick, and there’s no indication of Nintendo wanting to go there as even it wasn’t a thing on their 3Ds.

As for final fantasy, that’s just a Russian roulette guess at best. Would be nice tho, unless it’s a late 2024 release, then it’s a low maybe.

Developer presentations for Switch 2 took place behind closed doors, Eurogamer understands, with partners shown tech demos of how well the system is designed to run.

One Switch 2 demo is a souped up version of Switch launch title Zelda: Breath of the Wild, designed to hit the Switch 2's beefier target specs. (To be clear, though - this is just a tech demo. There's no suggestion the game will be re-released.)

With it selling as well as it is, I wouldn't put out a new switch until this one substantially stops selling.

Exactly. They are making mint off the older hardware so they will hold off as long as they can.

What direction do you guys/girls think Nintendo will take for their next hardware platform?

I can see the rumors of Nintendo Fusion being a logical step. A piece of hardware that's portable but also powerful enough to outshine Wii U.

Nintendo could merge their platforms and cater to third parties that would normally produce portable games, parties that want to do quick ports and have a strong enough platform for their own Nintendo remakes/remasters and new franchises.

Thoughts?
Damn. I was surprisingly accurate here.
