The Beer Thread

Stout was great.

Dark IPA Black Hatter was weird. I'm not really an IPA drinker, but I thought I'd give this a shot. The Hops were balanced a little by a roast malt flavor, but I still don't care for such a strong Hops profile. With that, I do think it's possible this beer could have benefited by pairing with the right food. Maybe a Philly Cheese-steak sub.
 
took the night off from beer. almost through a bottle of rum while working for a presentation next week haha.
 
what are ya'll favorite local craft breweries?

In California i'm a hanger 24, Dale Bros and Chino Valley Brewery guy.

Haven't had too much time to get around in Arizona because of school these last two years. I've only been to The Phoenix Ale Brewery. their watermelon ale is refreshing as hell during the summer.

Flying Dog, Victory, Du Claw, Clipper City. Yes I know Dogfish Head is just dont the street but not really a fan, although I was pleasently surprised by "61" which is one of their wine-beers- its a 60 minute IPA with grape must. but probably wont buy again.

For Michigan, one of the best seems to be Founders Brewery in Grand Rapids, MI.

Another decent one is New Holland. They make the Dragon's Milk beer that is one of my favorites.

Others worth a look are Bells from Kalamazoo, MI and Atwater from Detroit.

Atwater's Voodoo Vator is good.

Not sure, i havent seen it in gas stations or supermarkets, ill look for it next time im around ABC liquors.
Any specific type of Cigar City you recommend?, i think i saw you are into IPA's, i personally dont like them much.

So far I haven't come across a single bad beer they make. I am into IPAs but I pretty much like every style out there. Probably their most common non hoppy beer would be Tocobaga Red Ale, Maduro Brown Ale and Cubano Style Espresso Ale.
 
I'm not much of a beer drink anymore ever since my GF called me FATTY (beer belly lol). I'm more of a hard liquor guy but I do drink beers occasionally whenever there's free beer lol. My choice are dark roasted beers like Newcastle or Guiness.

I don't know how to break this to you but there are a lot of calories in liquor.
 
Looking for a beer recommendation for somebody else for Christmas that helped me out a lot while I was finishing college.

All I really know that they like is Dos Equis Lager.

I have considered getting them a Kolsch style beer, but might look at others.

Note: they do not like Stouts or super dark heavy beers.
