It is $600 as a direct payment, but then an extra $300 per unemployment pay period on top of what people already get. This would be a good time to try Yang's free $1k every month to middle and lower classes.Would like to see the rest of the speech, but she should be telling people to complain to their Republican senators for more.
I will say that $600 will just about cover a PS5 and Spider Man so that's something.
As someone who hasn't had work affected by Covid sure I'll take the $600 to spend on something I probably shouldn't, but for millions of Americans it doesn't even come close to enough even if it would have been a monthly thing since the start.

This is the "queen" so many on our side keep talking up, the one who's worth $120 million, is 80 years old and been in the house since the 1980's, she has NO clue what an average American is going through and probably hasn't for most of if not all of her life. It's not just her but people who keep talking her up need to stop drinking the Kool-Aid, she sucks.
When it comes to the $2000 we could have had close to that months ago but she wouldn't negotiate until after the election, she played games while people suffered. There was no assurance that McConnell would have brought it up in the senate but I think Trump would have forced him to and if not than it would have made their party look worse and probably could have helped with places like Georgia and some of the house seats we lost.
What's that vote going to do though? we wouldn't get M4A passed right now so why bother with the drama? Once Pelosi is out and hopefully a bunch of these corporatist dems get replaced along with an actual progressive POTUS we have a shot but with the party as it is now, even if we take the senate this wouldn't go through and taking the senate is a LOOOOONG shot.
That is why the focus on specific boogeymen make no sense because you get rid of a couple dems and you have a shot at M4A? Its laughable.
If every Dem was on board and they took the Senate they still wouldn't be able to pass it.
All of the corporatists have to go and that would be the majority of those in the house and senate right now, until that happens M4A needs to continue to be a part of the conversation for sure but these dramatics that will lead to nothing but more fighting are pointless and won't lead to anything but more trouble. When it comes to the overall lack of action for the average American I say keep the pressure on but when it comes to something like M4A which is needed but still going to be a long difficult process we need all of our ducks in a row before we actually try to get it going for real.
If I could get that $2000 I'd be set for life on all of the toilet paper I'd buy.
Trump's pardons are just disgusting. He pardoned Chris Collins who is a local guy who was caught red handed doing insider trading. They have voice mails of him leaving messages for all his family to dump a stock before the news hits. He got out of an internal meeting and immediately went down his contact list and warned each and every friend/family member to sell now. The only reason a Republican even wins in a deep blue state is because of a horribly gerrymandered district that weaves all around the populated areas of Buffalo and Rochester. It is literally just a district carved out of the sticks.
He pardoned war criminals who murdered women and children. This is the republican party showing their true colors.
You take that back, they don't like the color(ed)s.
