The Last of Us Part 2 - New Trailer Contains Spoilers

Currently at 96 with 71 reviews on Metacritic. The GI review said it was the best narrative driven game they've ever played.

I can rave about the attention to detail, the world, and the combat, but the story is where The Last of Us Part II sets a new bar. It is more about challenging your heart than your reflexes, and I simply cannot recommend it enough. There is much to be said about this game that can’t be said here due to spoilers, but you should play it as soon as you can with as little info as possible. But you don’t need to know specifics to appreciate how the gameplay and environmental cues all play into a single purpose: They make you feel the choices, helplessness, and the violence at the heart of this world and its characters. I can safely say this is the best narrative game I have played. I felt the loss. I felt the confusion. It is a game that turned me inside out with each twist of the screw

Yeah, I'll still not play this in regards to how the story turned out. I'd be surprised if mainstream media didn't praise this woke narrative though, they'd risk being eaten alive if they didn't.

I had no idea the embargo lifted today. Came in here because predownloads are live.

One more week.

I heard Polygon and Vice DIDN'T like it.. There may be hope for the game after all....

If they didn't that is solidifying my imminent purchase more than the limited scores or impressions I've seen so far.

I dont trust reviews at all. I'll wait for consumer ratings

Unless you can prove you played it I don't trust those either, people spread hate like crazy. You'll have people who are against the themes of the game, people who think the leaks are 100% true and hate that as well as xbox fans who are trying to downplay it because it's a high scoring PS4 game.

Polygon isn't reliable.

Other reliable places didn't like it either though.

There are 89 reviews up on metacritic and you don't start hitting below 80 until the last three, there are a few with no score and the 2 of those that I I read didn't seem to like how violent it is or have some issues with how the game compares to the first game. That's totally fine, you'll never have 100% agreement on anything and it's going to be impossible to recapture the full essence of the first game,. That being said with this many positive reviews and the studios reputation I'm thinking it'll be a good overall experience, I'm not expecting perfection but something very good. I do hope it's not another MGSV thing where reviewers praise it then I play it and it's a piece of s*** but I guess I'm willing to risk it :)

So who’s getting this and will be posting impressions?

I think I'm going to wait. It's not that I don't expect the game to be great but I kinda have to be in the mood for this grim dark stuff and I'm not in any mood for it right now.

Same, it’s not usually my type of game but I’m only interested because the combat looks soooo good. Still, I doubt I’ll get it though since I can’t even finish the first game because I hate clickers so much lol.

Also, I just really don’t like Neil Druckman, he seems a clone of Ruin Johnson but in the video game world

Mine is preloaded. Do preloads get to play a day early or anything like that? I see it's unlocked this upcoming Friday.

Nice! I have the same question actually, never preordered on PS4. On Xbox it usually unlocks at 11pm
