Nah I wouldn't it put him that far down the list, the fact that the first one was so good shows he has talent he just needs to be quiet about any outside agenda he has when it comes to bringing it to his titles.
Well he did just do an interview where he said he prefers people hate the game rather than be indifferent, which is exactly what RJ used to say about his movies!
Plus as much as I find RJ completely annoying, I loved Knives Out, so you can apparently be really annoying and talented at the same time lol
How did this get so twisted? Are there morons that think these reviewers got checks in the mail with their review copies?
The real argument was about access media and the lack of coverage on Sony’s rampant abuse of copyright strikes to silence critics
What I want is for it to be awesome. What I don't want is for the soul of the first game to be undermined by some deconstructionist, nihilistic, woke tomfoolery. The first game was beautiful in it's complicated themes. This one looks like a meaningless commentary on the cycle of violence (hardly an original concept, though the original wasn't original either, lol) while making our investment in beloved, nuanced character pointless. And for what? to be edgy? I hate nihilism. I don't want that rewarded.
That said, people can make what they want to make. I'm just not buying or supporting it.
I don't think it's bought off so much as people doing the defense of controversy thing, like when Last of the Jedi gets it's ass kissed. Along with Captain Marvel and Ghost Busters among other.

- problem is I don't trust mainstream reviewers anymore, and people getting cracked down on for negative coverage doesn't help.
That many perfect 10s in this environment is supremely suspect, imo.
To be fair, there's been very questionable practices going on with reviews before, I listened to a swedish pod awhile back and the guest used to work at a big video game site where he said they got review embargoed if they scored some titles under a certain score... basically if they gave a game too low a score they had to wait until release day, but if they scored it over a certain score they could release the review beforehand.

anyways I loved the last of us 1, but it’s not the type of game that I would rush out and buy day one. Don’t know why, it’s weird.

I saw a few people on Twitter already saying it destroyed their PS4 Pros! Crazy.
Hard to believe they pulled off this game off though, considering the HW limitations.
Oh boy, media embargo lifted and the story is officially out there. I’m out but looking forward to seeing what people think!
