Great episode, the changes that were made were all for the better IMO.
This show being this good, and the game being one of the, if not the, best story driven game ever made (imo) makes me sad and somewhat angry that they took the story down the road they did with part 2.
They should have made it a trilogy and done more with Joel as the main character, for some reason they were in a hurry to make Ellie the playable character.
Don't get me wrong the second one is a good game but compared to the first the story isn't told as well, of course it's a much bigger/longer game and they crammed a lot more into it. That's why a trilogy would have been better IMO.
Finally caught the first episode. I wish I was more entertained by it. Will definitely watch the rest of the series but felt pretty boring.

It's wild how even last night's episode was still so freakin good, but all in all was kind of a filler episode. Really hope they don't have a flashback exclusive episode, and incorporate David's arc as well. We're at the spot now, not ready to wait that long
You could easily cut out about 2 episodes worth of traveling shots.

Which minor characters did you not like? Everyone seems to being doing at least a good job, some better than others (Henry for example)
Preview makes it seem like they are going to do flashback DLC episode on its own and then Ellie on her own in episode 8 but I hope its just misdirection and the flashback is just something they cut back and forth from. It would seem like Ellie on her own+David+Joel on his own+reunited+giraffe+found by fireflies would be a lot for one episode if they go that route.
I will say I am glad Tess is gone now. I couldn't remember exactly when it happened in the game, but this triggered my memory.
