Are their cabs lined with aluminum foil?
Dunno about that, but probably a mega CB transmitter and Shortwave radio for good measure.
That way they can spread the inside scoop from the guys in the CB repair shop.

Videodrome do truckers often go into those amerikan diners and order coffee and perhaps waffles from the lady smoking cigarettes and eat at the counter like in your movies or is that just some made up romanticised Hollywood thing?
and Crystal Meth. Some of the truck stops or travel plazas have diners in them sometimes including a drivers only counter section. If a person yearns for exaggerated stories from the road,, that's where you can get your fix. Quite a few of the old restaurants are converted to Denny's or maybe IHOP though.
Lot's of small modern stops just have the basics to fuel up, have a MicDonalds, Arby's, or fvcking Subway, and maybe have a small drivers lounge with some recliner seats.
Otherwise, yeah lot's of coffee to go around.
f***ing HATE jobs that don't list their salaries. Like, I get that you're hiding this on purpose, but don't waste literally hours and probable PTO of my time because you won't openly admit you're going to lowball your offer.I'm about one conversation away from quitting my job at this point. Got multiple bosses who micromanage but yet don't even talk to each other. I basically spend my day learning new coding languages since all I know now is a custom ERP language that has no use anywhere else.
Lots of jobs out there, but it is just a pain to filter through all the garbage. A lot of companies are "temporarily remote" meaning they say remote but they are already mostly back in the office. I got an e-mail about a K-12 teaching job in Boston for $45k. I figure at that salary I'll be living in a fort made of empty Sam Adams 12-packs. I have no idea how they expect anyone to live in one of the most expensive cities on that. I still want to get a zoom interview and wear all my Yankees gear and just talk about the opening week series.
So many other jobs refuse to mention salary which is always a red flag. Seems like the jobs out there are mostly garbage. It is like musical chairs, everyone already found better ones and only the trash is left.

lmao screw that noise.Assistant CIO, 24/7/365 on call server support, full time programming job and full time tech support for all employees.
Starting at $60k! "Fast paced work environment!" - Yeah I bet
I love how they love to post the job a "IT Manager". Being the only person in IT isn't really the same as being a "manager".
Yepp, I'm right there with you. f*** seasons,I probably should just move to the desert.I really enjoyed that 12 hour break between cold and flu season and allergy season.
Here in Colorado, you legally have to now. There have been companies that have withdrawn hiring even remotely here because they're forced to display how much they pay.f***ing HATE jobs that don't list their salaries. I'm sorry dudeMy mother passed away at 1:45 AM on April 13th. Got the call from the care home half an hour later. Wish she could have seen her granddaughter one last time.
I am so sorry to hear that, DJ. That can’t be easy, especially with her granddaughter. I really hate these posts because there’s nothing I can really do for you except be here for what we your need.My mother passed away at 1:45 AM on April 13th. Congrats man. Where are you doing your schooling? Also, how long is the program?I’ve officially enrolled to get my masters in elementary education.
That's hard. It's never easy when a family member passes, no matter how good or bad the relationship was.My mother passed away at 1:45 AM on April 13th. Got the call from the care home half an hour later. Wish she could have seen her granddaughter one last time.

Doing it online. It’s my own pace thing, so as fast as I can get it done. I’m thinking 12 months.Congrats man. Where are you doing your schooling? Also, how long is the program?
Cool. Good luck with it man, online schooling is 2 parts great, 1 part annoying as hell. So far my grad program has been 75% online and probably will continue to be that way, but man depending on the content it's a great thing or the absolute worst thing lol.Doing it online. Which is why it's great and it's terrible lol. I can zone out a bit more during classes that are lecture based (that are kinda self taught at the same time if that makes sense) vs like a Calculus course or a Statistics course. I want those in person so I can have a bit more structure.I've never done school, but one thing I notice in Zoom or anything similar is that it is super easy for me to zone out. In person, I always feel obligated to at least look like I'm paying attention, but online it is super easy to completely tune out.

You're absolutely not wrong, but my professor calls us out for class participation to make sure we're following along. I'm usually pretty good at it but damn I've been caught on this here vidya game forum once lolI could only imagine calculus over zoom.
