I'm in a pretty bad place with my job right now. I was off for 2 days and the first things I did when back in the office was to:

A) Schedule my next vacations
B) Search the want ads
C) Spend the entire morning on the internet

I'm turning into "that guy" at work who just doesn't give a f***. Last week we were testing a new piece of software (some over priced 3rd party vendor stuff that doesn't work) and I let everyone know that it was not working at all as intended. So, instead of fixing it, they just sent it on to the users for testing and took the day off. Did they think they fixed it, or just don't care? The real kicker? The users won't test anything as that's "not their job", so they'll rely on our internal testing. So of course that will fall on me for not "testing" it so I'll have to take screenshots of every chat I've sent saying that it is borked up big time.

Another person on my team is leaving and is calling in sick 2-3 days a week to burn off their time.

Meanwhile everyone else here:

I've been in IT for just over 11 years now, and almost that entire time has been in K12. I wouldn't want to be in any other sector for IT support as I think the reward of knowing what I'm doing is making a difference in so many lives versus just making a business money. I have so much respect for teachers and just hope I do my best to make their job easier.

Been mentally struggling badly for the last month, a month ago my girlfriend of 10 years cheated on me and left me for someone I considered family, she moved to TN to live with him. She has only met this guy in person a handful of times. He was married at the time and was in the process of adopting a special needs baby. This guys brother and his wife (who I also considered family) covered the whole thing up when asked about it, and I have proof they knew for weeks. This was going on for a month before I found out. This is coming just 7 months after we built a brand new home together. She comes this coming Friday/Saturday to pick up the remainder of her things, the future is extremely uncertain with our house and what I am going to do. It's just me and our cat in a 2700sq ft home a hour away from any friends or family. This has been the worst thing I've ever experienced relationship wise and has been absolutely debilitating

Hasve any of you usrd that Dr.Squatch soap?
The commercials are annoying. But I bet it's good stuff.

What kind of soaps do you all use?

That’s awful to hear, evo. Being cheated on is the worst feeling. With everything you did for the both of you, it makes it even harder. As time passes, after a lot of tears, anger, sadness, questioning yourself, questioning if you did anything wrong, trying to figure out what you could have done differently, ups and downs emotionally, you’ll move past it.

It will take time. There will be steps forward. There will be many steps backwards. There will be a lot of ups and downs. Rest assured, you’ll survive. You’ll be a better, stronger person. When you’re past it all, you won’t recognized the man you were when you were at your lowest.

We’re here for you. Many of us have had a lot of relationship experience. Vent away. Ask questions. Use us for whatever you need.

✊🏼

Wow that's awful man, feeling betrayed by one person you love is bad enough but having this happen is just insane. You won't feel this way now because it's still so raw but you are better off without any of them in your life if they were able to do this kind of thing to you. I'm hoping his wife and brother were just trying to protect you or were at least just too afraid of hurting your feelings and didn't want to be put in the position of having to do so but still that doesn't make it feel any better I'm sure.

I won't tell you not to let it get to you that's unrealistic, take the time you need to get through it all mentally and emotionally and in time you'll realize that if she would do this to you that it's better that you know and that she's gone vs eventually marrying her and having kids with her because it likely would have ended the same way, if she's capable of this now she'd be capable of it 10 years from now.

I tried the deodorant. It was like using sandpaper under my arm.

I actually use the liquid shower was from a gym I used to belong to. It’s supposed to be for high end facilities only, but I got their contact info and talked them into letting me buy for myself directly from the the company they get it from.

I have aquagenic pruritus, and many soaps trigger it. This shower gel does it the least of what I’ve tried, and I’ve tried everything. Dove for men works well also.

My oldest boy had opening weekend of soccer. I really wanted him to stick with baseball but he’s gotten into fall soccer last couple years and wanted to take the year off of baseball to do spring soccer. They played back to back games yesterday. He scored 2 goals the first game then went off in the 2nd game and scored 4 goals!

One proud dad. I’m starting to become a fan of the sport even though I’m still learning as we go all the rules and stuff. He loves to play it and that’s all that matters.

My wife played on a fairly elite level in her late teens, knee injury stopped that.
My 6 yo daughter plays now, it's amazing to see and yes football is great.

Got a tentative job offer. Said I attend orientation next week and should be considered hired right afterward and doing the driving test It would be a local driving job supporting new ALDI stores built in my area bringing them freight from a new distribution warehouse. Should be a lot more pay, but long work days.

ALDI's seems to have a good rep as a company. I wouldn't be their direct employee, but with a company partnered with them Titan Transfer.

Wonder if I need to put in a quarter when I get a trailer ;)

Have you ever been approached by any ladies of the night at truckstops?

Apple is the worst technology company in the world. Apple fanboys deserve to get Will Smith'd.

My idiot manager spilled water all over a Macbook. First thing they did was turn it on to see if it still worked /facepalm

They sell us a warranty with accidental damage protection. I ask them if water damage is covered they say, yes! Just bring it in to a store. So I go to a mall (lol, like something out of a post apocalypse) and they say it is $299 to fix. "But I was told it was covered by the warranty". "Oh it is, it just costs $299 to ship it out to get your free repair. Now I'm trying to get them to repair it, but they will only take a credit card and now are telling me that accidental damage doesn't cover water damage at all.

Now I am the go-between between 2 different bosses who want this fixed for free and Apple who's too big to care.

Mind you, we can buy Dell laptops on a massive discount for 50% off, and have next day, on site service. The laptops even come with USB ports so you don't need a million adapters!

I’ll be honest I want the new pro, it’s like my old one (with ports/usb/sd) but no glowing apple logo lol or may get the new studio. I do need a new pc, I can’t even play infinite on mine :( but mainly for 3d/unreal

We have some of the new M1 Pros. They are nice, but cost $3500 for a well equipped Macbook. For that price, it should come with a robot that writes code for me.
