MS has also stated that the new Halo will be 1080p 60fps as well, so it not a matter of IF, it's just a matter of how long it will take to process more 1080p 60fps games (which they are already doing now with multiple games).
Project Cars for the Xbox One is also 1080p, 60fps.
I recall them saying it would be 60fps, not 1080p though. I don't recall them mentioning a resolution at E3 last year.
And it's all too late to change now. Geez, guys. Just get the one you want and be happy. You can moan about what MS did all you want- that won't change a damn thing. MS made decisions based on prediction and trying to not take a loss (just as Sony did). That part is over. All of this conjecture is pointless. If it bugs you so much, then I think it's obvious which one you should buy. The Machines shouldn't be carbon copies of each other- otherwise we wouldn't have more than one.
Guess what? Tomb Raider still performs very well- I didn't notice any negatives to the performance. So what if isn't as high as the other version? It's not a slide-show, and the control isn't compromised. It also looks stunning. So Blah, blah blah. This all seems like some kind of projection of insecurity. Would I prefer higher Rez? sure, but as long as it's at least 720p( which is what HD tv channels run at, so it fits along with 90% of what I see on screen anyway) I won't be b****ing. Especially if the games are sporting great graphics.
On a positive note- I just played DR3 post patch, and It looks much, much better without that Sharpening filter. Looks much more CG-ey to me. Me likes. I'll have to check Forza now, to see if it has benefitted
Also, if you haven't calibrated your TV- Shame on you. It makes everything look so much better!
I get what you mean, but there are other concerns. Watch this video:
The part about 4K after a few years when it becomes affordable..and that it would be really bad if we still see Sub HD games on X1, which right now...is still a possibility.
And this:
I can agree with this guy. Not on all things though..cause you know..it's subjective if you like Kinect or not and think its worth paying 100 dollars more for. But i can understand that people are pissed and don't like it one bit. I can understand very well that they expect the same performance and resolution as the competition. It may seem like this dude is out to destroy and diss Xbox in any way he can, but he really isn't. He makes some good points.
Right now it is not a deal breaker for me that X1 games seem to be getting lower resolutions and what not. But what about five years or more from now? To still see 720p games would be pretty embarassing. But i guess its too early to go there yet. But that was also a point i was trying to make. The future. Friends of mine say.....''wtf man, even the PS4 doesn't have every game in 1080p...how can this even be a thing? I really expected 1080p to be a given for the new consoles.''. And i can really get that, i definitely can.
