So you're okay with the PS4 and XSS having same dynamic 1080p for this title? A "next-gen" and last-gen console.
I'm not playing it so I couldn't give half an ounce of freshly squeezed fartmist, but if the resolution is the same and the settings level is also the same, that would not be good. That's one of the things that if I cared at all and was going to have an XSS that I might research but fortunately I'll leave nitpicking crossgen games in series I can't get into for other people.
I would not even look into that console if I was planning on buying a new next-gen console. 7 years and you get same dynamic resolution, oh boy. But I'm sure the XSS will get some better settings turned on. After all, it's still "next-gen".
There are tons of people playing games at 1080p so they can get the framerates. The XSS is going to vastly outperform current gen even if it's not hi-rezzing it. And its priced like last gen. I bet there is a market for it even if you arent in it. I wouldn't get it for myself, but I'm an enthusiast.
That's going to happen with the ps5 versus xonex too though, maybe even one x having higher res.
You can't judge it by res only, not when you got so much more from higher quality shadows, better textures, longer draw distance etc.
Don't doubt it since it is new architecture and people will ways look at price being a factor but having same dynamic res and FPS as a last-gen launch console for a next-gen title is not a good look.
Maybe. Time will tell. I don't expect a huge difference between PS5 and XSX apart from first party titles just like last-gen.
Btw, the other part of the Battlefield 4 720/900 thing is that it was 704p on PS3/X360. Launch games that are cross gen are usually the ones that show the least benefit to the new gen.
So history shows that there is always a modest improvement in resolution for the next gen consoles. PS4 had the 900p just like XSX and Ps5 has the dynamic 4k (1440p+) here.
Is there ray tracing for the XSS version?
As someone who had BF4 on both PS3 (maybe it was 360, don't remember) and PS4 at launch, it was a night and day improvement. i remember laughing out loud when logging into my first BF4 match on PS4 on a map I"d played several times because it didn't even look like the same game.

Finally trying to play through this game again after shelving it awhile back, it’s tough to get hooked because the stealth can be super difficult with the drones everywhere. Anyone have any tips for dealing with crowded areas with lots of drones?
