What are you playing this weekend?

I might see what Fortnite is like but it just looks kiddie 🤷‍♂️
Being a kiddie allows whacky gadgets (jump pack, shockwave, portable fort, teleporter, spider-man grappling hook etc) & not feel out of place, like becoming the terminator T1000 liquid metal & trave around as a chrome blob.

but benefit the kiddle look is a very tactical shooter & how you use the tools is as important as shooting & movement.

I tried Deathloop, Metro Exodus, Uncharted Lost Legacy and Trials of Mana after downloading last night. So far, Trials of Mana is the most fun. I'll probably play Metro after as well since I've never played it before. Just not sure if it's the enhanced edition on PS plus right now.

If you had the option of downloading the PS4 and PS5 version, I'm pretty certain the enhanced edition is just the PS5 version.

It's not the prettiest game, as the RT can push the resolution down, but is a huge upgrade over last gen, Digital foundry did a great video showcasing the upgrades and explaining how the RT works.

Don't remember seeing a PS4 or PS5 version hm But when I check in menu it is the PS5 native version I've downloaded. Still looks last gen in some parts but overall crossgen quality.

I'm actually playing a game that's almost (10) years old and the amount of details in the world is staggering. I'm speaking of GTA 5, the graphics look dated but the amount of details in Los Santos is mind blowing. And then there's all the little things like populated streets with people doing actual activities like dining or hanging out. I was driving to a mission and seen a pair of bike riders which is amazing for a game this old. Buildings, Highways, Signs and Streets look to be meticulously recreated in this fictional world.

This is my third attempt to get into this game and perhaps the reason why it resonates with me now is that I've played a ton of other open world games since GTA 5 was released. And I have to say I can't think of another game world with this amount of details and activity in it. A lot of devs like to say how their NPC(s) have routines but when you play the actual game their NPC(s) just walk around like bots or drive like idiots. Red Dead 2 was also filled with a lot of great details but the game was too slow for me and bored me when it released. I was thinking of giving it another try but there's no upgraded resolution or framerate patch which is disappointing.

The GTA devs worlds are second to none.

For real. Go and pay Horizon: Forbidden West and you'll find one of if not the most beautiful open world in console gaming so far. And yet, its lifeless with little going on the world. And if you observe the machines even they don't do much unless attacked. Its amazing how a game released almost a decade ago still till this day has no equal.

RDR2 is its only rival.

Hi @sunset limited
Hate to be the one saying this. I am not the only Fortnite fan here now. Are DriedMangoes, lowdru2k, @menace-uk etc also sunset?

Maybe its time to

Started a new playthrough of cyberpunk and realized I had 79h on my earlier character pending the point of no return... maybe I'll finish it this time lol
Also borderlands the pre- sequel on switch, it plays good enough even if the joycons aren't optimal in fps's.

Back to back W.

Also beat Trials of Mana today. Going to start Metro from PS Plus Extra

Are there some parts of Trials that is turn based? Or where you select moves on multiple characters and it does it for you? I am not into turn based games.

No, it's more like Tales of style where it's all action. The AI has strategy that you can set that prioritizes the same enemy as you, lowest HP, nearest etc. The only time it stops the action is when you want to use an item or want to manually have a character cast a spell/use MP.

How do you Germans celebrate this? Destroying walls with the family?
Celebrations here our low key usually if at all, people doing what they do during holidays. Because something 75 years ago, any sign of major celebration maybe mistaken for bad things.

Played a bit of Wolverstein, I feel like I am just dragging to the finish line. Not feeling the game. The 2nd one is much better.

The combat just not feeling good. A few levels are well design, but otherwise boring corridorsish.

About halfway through Guardians of the Galaxy. Gameplay is a borefest but enjoying the story and character interaction.
