What's the buzz in real life?

Freezasama you said it all. My thoughts exactly. In my opinion no killer apps yet but that's to be expected. I'll be waiting to buy a new console for at least a year.

And you know what, that's fine. Everything that I'm looking forward to in the coming months is on the current consoles. Next-gen stuff that I really want is only going to start coming out in the spring to summer months, so I'll probably get mine around March or April. After Dark Souls II, surely.

Myself and my family are going with the X1. Don't know anyone that's buying a ps4.

Those are going to the PS4 are people who are cheap and dont spend a dollar on anything.

Hahaha or maybe they just did their research and found out you're paying less to get more in regards to the price/performance ratio in the graphical department. And just maybe, they like the PS exclusives more than the Xbox's.

Me and my 4 Brothers all getting X1 "Titanfall" im the only one getting a PS4.

At work the PS4 seems to be dominating the conversation, I think price has a lot to do with it. The guys I work with mainly play the big releases - GTA, COD, Battlefield, FIFA, AC etc but wouldn't know Neogaf exists or care about native resolutions of games.

Surprisingly, there are still many people that think the 'no used games and always online' thing still exists on Xbox One, so clearly Microsoft have got some work to do on that messaging.
Sometimes you can't get people out of "group think" mode.

I really think the only reason why one will sell more than the other, in the beginning. Is simply because they have more on the shelves. No pun intended

Huh, yeah if pre-orders aren't selling then they would be available, was saying that if there was already an abundance of available pre-orders there is no logic to open up even more available pre-orders that are likely not to sell.

No point trying to use logic with him.

Most places stopped taking launch pre orders on both consoles a while back.

Know one I know is getting sh%t because they didn't preorder and don't plan to sit out in the cold. When the consoles are widely available they'll most likely get what ever is the cheapest.

So by real life are we referring to afk? I don't like going there... It's scary.

Only "real life" buzz I've heard was from:

- Being at PAX.. despite Titanfall by far being the busiest booth, and barely any lines for anything PS4 related.. the "buzz" on the floor was what you'd expect.. snarkyness matching the internets hate of Xbox One

- Some military guys my girl is friends with.. they basically said everyone at the base they are at is getting a PS4.. that was partly based on the military times article and whatnot of course. That group of guys went to PAX the next day and loved Titanfall though.. and I don't think any of them are the type to pre-order... save up their paychecks to buy s*** on base types.

well people I spoke with said they are staying with Xbox because they already invest money in many things beside games and all their friends are on XBOX. They are not going to split up their friends.

Those are going to the PS4 are people who are cheap and dont spend a dollar on anything.

So, you bought a PS3 over 360 when it launched?

I heard fourth graders talking about the PS4 today. WE GOT A WINNER!!!1

I don't know anyone who's getting both due to the cost, it's going to be about $1000 to get both after tax is added (depending on where you live) and that's not including any games or the cost of their online components. Most people I know are going from 360 t0 PS4, the ones that aren't are just not getting a next gen console right now.

Where I work there's a lot of 20/30-somethings and the buzz is for the PS4. Many people around the water cooler are saying they don't like the Kinect, but mostly they're concerned about price, they see $399 and they prefer it. No talk about graphics, or anything like that, just price.

I've been telling people, the general public don't give a crap about voice controls.
