Should I have gotten the notification by now?. I see the little windows icon on the right side of the screen. But it just prompts me to let Microsoft notify me when its ready.

No, they said they were staggering the launch. I had to force mine with this:

They don't want everyone hitting the servers at launch.
You can go here and manually dl it. That is what I did.Cool. Thanks.
For those that have it, and have played games...is performance in game the same or better?
Wow. He certainly makes a grand effort of pointing out its flaws. I guess we need people like this to improve the system though.ARS has a review up. Buggy and a lack of uniform but other wise an improvement.

Didn't read all that, but their points about the start menu being a step back seem way off.
I think the interface is great and the best is it is customization so you can go more Win 7 type, or the newer, or even back to 8 if you like.
I never spent more than a second or two searching for anything. In Win 8 I still have to stumble around to find things.
As for bugs, well when people update an existing install, every single piece of software isn't going to work. I'm sure some morons are putting this on work/important PCs on day 1 and that's not wise. Wait for vendors to catch up.
Some people are just going to bash MS. That's just the way of the world.
Seems the machine I am going to update to Win 10 has all it's Win 10 drivers out, I am going to proceed once it gives me the green light.
My web favorites were not retained but my docs were.I have a question, will the upgrade retain all of my documents, web favorites, game saves, etc? Will I need to reinstall games and applications?
Things went smooth on my end. Working with my Radeon card and ran some Evil Within on Steam. Before, the game used to do brief loading pauses and now that's fixed.
One question I have is if only the first year is free ?

One more question (can you tell I'm nervous?)....I have multiple partitions, will it save everything in these partitions as well?
It's not a grand effort. It's ready to notice issues like the All Apps tab of the Start Menu not showing all of his applications because Microsoft put a limit of 500 applications on it.Wow. So I upgraded but I think Cortana needs some work.
I can't even hear her. LOL.
You should have read the new EULA. Microsoft now reserves the right to search your computer for pirated software at will. What the F is up with the Runtime Broker process? It hogs like 40% CPU power. I had to disable it via the registry, but now the Start menu doesn't work.
I thought the Runtime Broker was simply for distributing access/rights for the apps? how the hell does that need 40% of the CPU power?
