What DF is referring to then in your terms is that XSS feels like a last last gen experience if the PS5/XSX are last gen experiences. Does that make more sense to you?
THEY ALL DO. THEY ARE ALL LAST GEN EXPERIENCES.

Does caps help it sink in? Doubt it.

You still don't get it... even as a "last gen experience" (as you say) on the premium consoles, XSS falls behind that with shadows, cloth physics, textures, fire effects, draw distances, particle effects are all downgraded further on the Series S -- which is similar to the PS4/X1 experience.

This game doesn't look next gen on any version.

So to only pick out the weaker of the next gen consoles is silly.
Again, the devs need to do better.

Still no fixes to the PC performance issue where game engine render speed is tied to frame rate. This looks like the same slow-mo issue that happens when Wild Hearts (also a Team Ninja game) starts dropping frames. Also, the only cards capable of being consistent over 60 fps in 1440p are higher end GPUs like the 6900XT and RTX 4090.

If the PS5 and XSX versions aren't current gen then how in the flying f*** is the XSS going to be. How do you not realize the stupidity in singling out the XSS as like a last gen version when by their own words claim the PS5 and XSX versions are last gen experiences too.

Your own defence is that the PS5 and XSX have higher settings, like consoles with 3 times the power don't have that as standard. Jesus Christ, Dried. How much more silly is this crap going to get.

I'm not even talking about if the game is last gen or not in terms of visuals. I'm stating that DF aligns XSS with the last gen experience because they had to dial the settings back much alike the older consoles visuals and settings hence why they called it more like the "last gen" experience. That's it. For some reason you go on and on about the whole game as a last gen experience in general when that's a separate topic by itself.

Bloody overgrown goat boss is kicking my ass, almost helped a random on co-op get through a level but man he just didn't know what gates to open even with me standing there waving at him, pretty annoying, then he just went in and rushed the boss, kept dying so I had to keep reviving him, and I guess he just died too many times and kicked me out his game.

Probably didn't think you were good enough to carry him 😋

I'm not sure how co-op works but I think if you join a randoms game you can't keep playing with them if someone dies? Similar to how you summon an NPC ally, and I'm assuming if you go full on co-op you can play through everything.

Semantic BS.

They are all last gen, fact. DF said So themselves. So, the singling out of XSS is just semantic nonsense. No doubt DF trying justify their nonsense in a previous video regarding the BG3 stupidity.

Part of it is semantics. But XSS visual settings and resolution are more alike the last gen consoles, that's fact. The only saving grace is the higher fps but it's missing a lot of bells and whistles of the PS5, XSX.

So kind of like Elden Ring where if the person you're helping dies, you restart and have to look for coop players again.

There are no bells and whistles on PS5 and XSX. They don't even have shadow cube mapping or ambient occlusion in large parts of the game. lol. The only significant difference between PS4 Pro/X1X and PS5/XSX is the frame rate and load times. Same goes for XSS.

Not my fault their own analysis contradicts their stupidity, and isn't my fault you latched on to that stupidity.

From the analysis, here are most of the downgrades:

"On the surface, Series S hasn't turned out too badly then - but there is a penalty in terms of its core visual settings. Textures, shadows, and even physics are all downgraded on Series S. And putting its 60fps support aside, this surprisingly places its visuals more in line with a last-gen experience.

Let's run through the downgrades in order. The texture mapping on Series S is obviously compromised, with lower-quality assets for mountain walls, rocks, mossy terrain and more. Shadow detailing is removed from the scenery too, while transparency effects also take a nosedive in resolution. Likewise, the sprite work used for plants is not only lowered in quality but also in density on Series S. Draw distances for grass are further afield from the player, too, though geometry and shadows draw in at similar ranges. Perhaps most surprisingly, though, is that cloth physics are significantly dialled back. The flag checkpoints, for example, dynamically billow with the wind on Series X, and PS5 - but on Series S you get only a basic scripted motion. Even the motion blur is downgraded with more dithering in movement here. Ultimately this makes Wo Long one of the most visually distinct Series S releases - and not in a good way - but the last-gen machines require even more substantial cutbacks."

It is one of the most downgrades for XSS seen recently compared to the other two. It's worthy to note that. How is that a "dumbass take" ?

Now you are just repeating yourself. I think it's time to move on from the debate.

Irony? lol.

How can it be more last gen when last gen has "Even more substantial cutbacks." Essentially making the XSS version more akin to PS5/XSX.

Thanks for the laugh.

Because of the dialled back settings compared to the PS5/XSX, that's why DF said it was more like the older console versions. Anyways just read the article and watch the video, they detail it all there. Whether you agree with it or not is a different matter lol.

But it isn't. Higher res, 60 FPS, faster load times, better textures, etc.

Anyways, just read the article and watch the video, their hypocrisy and semantic BS is all there. Whether you have brain cells to notice or not is a different matter, lol.

Oh BTW in case anyone noticed the game looking flat it seemed HDR was automatically disabled in my game for some reason.

I thought Boss Goat was the easiest one so far. His critical attack is real easy to parry and leaves him wide open.

Nice to see Dried taking Val’s spot ruining a thread with his BS like always. For someone that doesn’t own an XB he sure can’t keep it out his mouth.

Again, takes two to tango. And I've just restated what DF said so nice to see posting DF info is considered ruining threads now.

And I do own a Xbox platform, PC 😉

Took a break, got back to it last night and beat the third mission with the wizard boss. He felt hard in the moment but then I realized he only took maybe 6-7 tries so he wasn’t too bad. His attacks were definitely harder to parry but I think I need to get rid of this giant club I’m using as my second weapon because it is obscuring my view lmao

I don't know if it is a bug or part of the game design, but for a while I couldn't parry. Tapping B would always result in a roll dodge no matter what. Hopefully I am able to sort it out next time I jump in.

Quit playing stupid you know you troll MS/XB every chance you get. For someone that prefers another piece of plastic you sure always got big green on your mind.

Because I want Xbox to succeed too. I know it's hard for some to accept that it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive to like both platforms and that it also doesn't have to be a zero sum game here.

Anyone still playing this? Really enjoying it still especially once you get a couple builds going.
