Xbox Events

The show was solid 8/10. If they would've shown Fable, Hellblade 2 or State of Decay 3 it would be a 9. I'm looking forward to hearing whatever the other teams have to share later this week.

Stalker 2 looks amazing. It was the game of the show for me. I read some stories from players about the first game, with its random encounters in the zone and how players fought to stay alive in different ways. Some people even had encounters with creatures that were extremely rare to find. I think it's going to be a very personal and memorable kind of experience.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon added. Many, many awesome titles day one on Game Pass. There's too much to go into detail with, but even the newly announced games like Contraband and Redfall have me excited.

I know that having the studio that made Prey making this is exciting and the fact that they put it at the end of the show kind of gives the impression they think it's a big deal. But who knows? We've seen no real gameplay yet.

I'm heavily anticipating Hellblade, but we're not going to see anything from it soon. It's Unreal 5 and so far that's still a beta - like Epic hasn't released Fortnite in UE5 yet and it's kind of their jam. It's kind of an indictment of where MS was the past several years that they needed to announce that when the XSX was announced - even though there's going to be nothing to show for quite some time.

Yes Stalker: SOC and the sequel are gems. I suggest anyone with a half decent PC play the first 2 at least. Think Metro but wayyy more intense and challenging.

I still don't get why having a game in 2022 is huge if we don't know how good it'll be or not. I also don't believe the game is a 2022 release given they announced it with a CGI trailer in mid 2021, I know it's a different part of Arkane but they've delayed Deathloop twice.

I'm sure Arkane is totally concerned about being late to the PS5 and will totally prioritize getting Deathloop out to the detriment of Redfall.

They are different parts of Arkane, the point I was making was they just announced the game in mid 2021 with a CGI trailer and it's slated for release in the summer of 2022, so they've basically got 12-14 months. It could happen I just wouldn't count on it.

They've also likely been working on it since, what, Prey wrapped? Remember Bethesda in general holds off on officially announcing games until they're closer to release (was going to say closer to done but it's hard to be done when you use actual players for QA).

They used to do that but they announced Starfield years ago as well as ES6 so not so sure that's quite how they work anymore. We'll see, it doesn't sound like a lot of people are super hyped about it right now but maybe after they actually show gameplay that'll change.
 
FYI, Forza Motorsport 8 (not the real name) is confirmed RT for the entire game, not just Vista. But FM8 is a closed circuit racer. Forza Horizon 4 was 52 square miles. Forza Horizon 5 is a map that is MUCH bigger than FH4.

That said, FH5 has real time reflections in the cars of the surrounding environment without using RT.

C+/B- I give the show.

My eyes are on Starfield,Forza Horizon 5 looks great (but Mexico?),Halo Infinite still looks underwhelming,STALKER 2 looks amazing but it's not exclusive and they showed a weird but interesting FPS game(can't remember the name)

They will need another comparable if not better show this year with more shown/announced.

IMO this game is coming in August. E3 next year we get gameplay of these 3 games and this will be their late summer to holiday line up.

Redfall (August)
FM8 (October)
Starfield (November)

It’s the same talking points from people every E3.

“The trailer didn’t tell us anything about the game”

“There wasn’t any gameplay shown, so we don’t know how it actually looks”

We will see gameplay before the games come out. As long as we know there is content coming they will show gameplay and all the info we need at some point.
