It isn't arbitrary at all. That seems quite arbitrary. Especially when those titles will be likely be next gen only and that gen hasn't even started. By these rules, Final Fantasy would still be on Nintendo.
Maybe this was a hint for TGS.
It isn't arbitrary at all.
How about Xbox just sticking to what they say then? Wasn't it Phil Spencer who said exclusives aren't good.
I only have a problem if MS makes long standing multiplatform games exclusive to Xbox. If they do a Minecraft it is all good. If they make Starfield exclusive but keep Elder Scrolls, Fallout, etc multiplatform it is all good.

They are, and they lie to us and gamers just dismiss it. Why are gamers so pro business and anti consumer?I mean these are corporations.
If Sony doesn't stick to their mantra of saying 'cross gen isn't something we care about and could hold back PS5 development' and then saying that HZD 2 is being developed for the PS4 as well.
Why should Microsoft not be able to change their tune as well?

Think it wss Sackboy. So is Spider Man Miles Morales. I think there was 1 other game that is cross gen that I can't think of.
MS will counter point with, "We're trying to get GamePass on the Playstation platform to allow you to play our entire first party lineup, but Sony won't allow it."“Gaming is about entertainment and community and diversion and learning new stories and new perspectives,” he said. “I find it completely counter to what gaming is about to say that part of that is to lock people away from being able to experience those games. Or to force someone to buy my specific device on the day that I want them to go buy it, in order to partake in what gaming is about. Gaming is bigger than any one device…”

Once the ink is dry on the deal and all other previously agreed to deals have been met, Bethesda will become a true Xbox first party. Xbox wants you in their ecosystem, and making you come to them for Bethesda games is just one way they plan on drawing players in.
Todd Howard and Pete Hines do not seem thrilled in that video. Said they were shocked and found out at the same time the rest of the world did.
when Hines said sh*t and the xbox sound popped, that was just funny!
Often things suck when you can’t partake for one reason or another, but c’est la vie. Seriously, acquisitions happen and it changes the landscape of things, but it isn’t a big deal overall, life goes on and gaming goes on.
I never got to play SFV or Bayonnetta 2, but ultimately it didn’t change much. If these games don’t go multiplatform moving forward, people can still have the option to play on Xbox or PC if it’s that important to them.
I think any argument that certain games should have remained multiplatform is also predicated on the assumption that the status quo would have remained in the first place had this acquisition not have taken place. If not MS, than any other company could have stepped in. Not like they forced them to sell, they were obviously seeking a buyer under the right conditions. Moving past the acquisition itself, it approaches telling both MS and Bethesda how to conduct their business.
