lol @ mcmasters deleting his post that started all of it after trying to report me
Yeah, I'm here after the report. I'm not really sure what to do about all this. McMasters did delete a lot of posts, so it looks more one-sided than it was.
I don't feel like laying down the law. I'll just say McMasters and Hissatsu should break it up and stop with the personal remarks. Please return to bickering about the topic at hand. Thank you.
It was really smart of them to bring this game out on next gen IMO, I have never bought a tomb raider game in the past but due to the lack of new titles coming out I gave this one a chance and I loved it. I'm currently on my second play through and I'll be there on day one when the next game comes out.
The most successful game console in history, the PS2, was made woefully underpowered and obsolete, only a year or so after it launched, by the original Xbox. Yet it dominated gaming. It should be interesting to see how this generation plays out, and how much "power" is actually needed, and how much is superfluous.
Yeah, they take it to a level I've never seen before.
Yes, but it's not a consistent 60fps, it drops to 40-50 fps and judders when a lot is going on on the screen. Both versions are being judged on their merits on each machine and the playing trumps all tech. This is an excerpt from an artcle on Eurogamer quoting DF:"From the outset it is clear that the Xbox One delivers the most consistency across a general run of play, with the game mostly adhering to a solid 30fps as Lara explores her surroundings. However, on the PS4 we see frequent dips and spikes in the render time between frames, translating into on-screen judder and a variance in controller response that does feel a little odd during fast-moving action. However, with Xbox One dipping under 30fps - often in scenes where sustained visual feedback and consistent controls are really a must, the Microsoft platform clearly comes up short in comparison to its unlocked rival." There are lot factors taken into consideration when reviewing a game other than tech specs, and points were taken away from both version for flaws. There is no questioning the PS4 advantage in framerate. It's just not a consistent one.
Infamous also looks better than TR and is doing way more.
It is kind of silly though. When inFamous comes out looking great but running at 30fps, it suddenly won't be a big deal again.
Not sure what an exclusive game has to do with anything being discussed in this topic...
Has anyone tried playing this over remote play on their Vita yet? The controls are set up better than any other PS4 game I've tried so far.
Nope. I'll take 60 over 30 any day. Doesn't matter what genre.60 fps vs 30. I think it's purposely being blown out of proportion.
Dead Rising 3 IMO.KI is the best exclusive on that list and I don't care what the scores say.
