Tomb Raider Definitive Edition

I agree. But a locked 30 isn't horrible. Disappointing though.

But I was talking about double standards. So and so game is only 30 fps. But it does all these other things. Why make excuses for one and not the other?

Are you referring to some PS4 owners/fans making a big deal out of this while at the same time being pumped for Infamous (30 FPS)?

Anyway I fully expect sub 1080P/30 fps down the road even for some PS4 games. If they're pushing the console I won't mind.

I think most 30 FPS games will be 1080p on both consoles. 30 FPS = more room for visuals.

Sports games should remain 1080p/60 FPS on both consoles. Smaller titles (like platformers) should too.

Yes. But even with X1 games like DR3, excuses were made because Of all the zombies on screen ect.. the game could have and should have been smoother.

But there's definitely a lot of baiting going on.

Yeah... That's just the nature of these "console warz".

Infamous also looks better than TR and is doing way more.

Let's hope so. It's an exclusive, not a port, and only running 30fps.

Nope. I'll take 60 over 30 any day. Doesn't matter what genre.

I will take 60fps over 30fps. I will take a locked 30fps over a fluctuating 60fps.

Finished the game in 3 days ... :( too short and too easy even the last boss ... he was the easiest

I thought the game was long.

I fail to understand how it's the same? The only reason this is a big deal is because the xb1 version can't keep up with the ps4 version. If both games were at 30 fps no one would be talking about it at all. How does that have anything to do with 30 fps infamous? People are obviously not ragging on TR because it's 30 fps. They are ragging on xb1 because it can't keep up. Very big difference.

No one said that it's the same. We simply brought out the hypocrisy that's going on on both sides.

A lot of it is simply console wars. People saying that 30 FPS is "unacceptable" for a next gen console while at the same time being hyped for games that are 30 FPS.

Well 30 fps is pretty crap and people expected these consoles to be a lot more powerful. I don't see anyone here who expects all ps4 games to be 60 fps though. Obviously these consoles can't handle that and the xb1 even more so.

Yeah it's interesting to even see gaming journalist claiming more power equals market dominance. They should know better based on recent history that it doesn't always play out like that.
For PS fans, it's comforting to know their machine is not instantly hamstrung by some built in disadvantage, like they endured, last gen.

Finished the game for my first time today on the Xbox One. It was good, even very good at times.

Very impressive visuals, lighting, and weather effects.
Some great, fluid platforming. Very Uncharted-esque.
The story was pretty good, very easy to follow, but some obvious flaws. I won't spoil anything but alternatives should have been explored.

There was too much combat, though. It really throws off the pacing of the game, in my opinion. I know they need content and some filler, but I would have enjoyed this game much more if it was more puzzles and traversing rather than shooting.

The secondary characters sucked and felt very stale.

The ending was a bit unsatisfying to me as well.

Though, I would say the reviews for this game were generally similar to what I think of the game. It hovers around the 8-8.5 area for me.

I wish enemies would respawn more in previously cleared areas. Just a couple here and there isn't enough.

How so? ps2 was the strongest when it came out.
It's an awesome piece of hardware even though it was eclipsed by the first Xbox, it sold more and had the longest run of any console in history. Needless-to-say, I still play my launch model, even today.

But the majority of its games came after the Xbox and Gamecube were out. The PS2 was also the same price as the Xbox and $100 more than the GameCube even though it was weaker in power.

People still got it though due to its games and the games looked better than what they were playing on (at the time) previous gen hardware. Same will be true for the Xbox One.

True but the Xbox One is still currently $100 more expensive and weaker than the PS4. If the Xbox One is priced at $399 then it would be a more fair comparison.

PS2 was $100 more than GameCube. GameCube had better performing multiplatform games. Very few cared though. People still bought a PS2 after the GameCube launched.

But the PS4 is now the most powerful console on the market while being cheaper than the Xbox One and $100 more than the Wii U. The middle point price-wise.

You are forgetting that the ps2 had more dev support than the xbox and gc combined.

I don't understand this weakest hardware bs. When it came out it wasn't the weakest hardware. Of course systems that came out a year+ later are going to be more powerful. Sony was a name brand in the console industry and Microsoft was the new kid on the block. Microsoft got pooped on because they didn't have the same support that Sony did. The only reason Sony had that support is because they were a name brand and a sure thing.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

you can go back to them, i am sure you know though

i just finished it last night, at 96%. probably gonna 100% it like i did on x360 but gotta use guides to find those challenges that dont show up on the map

Xbox One: "For those that don't care."

...Or for people who want a system that's an improvement over last gen consoles, has solid 3rd party support, and has exclusive content and features that they find to be appealing. You know, the reasons why most people buy a new console.

If I cared that greatly about getting the best multiplats, I would be a PC gamer but maybe that's just me.

Oh ok, you are simply talking about price rank.

My point was simply me saying that most people bought the console that was the weakest out of the three but was $100 higher than a console that had better specs.

So you agree with the PS2 staying the same price as the Xbox and being $100 more than the Gamecube for that whole gen?

My point is that people care mainly about games -- just as long as the system those games are for is a big improvement over what they had previously.

I'm saying it's not that simple lol. Ps2 had all the games because it sold well. It didn't sell well because it had all the games. Sony's machines always have way more diversity as well Since they always have more Japanese support. That was actually the one thing I missed when I picked 360 over ps3. ;(
