EA Access on Xbox One.

The only people who should be bitching about access are the PS owners who weren't given the option because of Sony pimping their service

How many of you put an average of 6 hours into game demos? How many games have demos? Could you ever carry over your save from a demo into the real game before? How representative of the full game was the game demo?

Here's what most game demos are in my view. Correct me if I'm wrong. If the game even has a demo prior to release, it's usually a limited snippet of the game. It's not always the first level. If it's a non-sports game, the demo usually doesn't have 6 hours worth of gameplay in it...unless you replay the same limited level over and over. If it's a sports game, it's usually limited to short time periods, two teams, with no access to franchise modes or more importantly, sliders.

6 hours with saves that translate to the real game is huge. If I invest 6 hours, I want that 6 hours to carry over and not have to start over.

6 hours to test out all the game modes, sliders and options is huge in sports games. Making it 6 hours rather than a 3 day time period offers more flexibility. I don't know about some of you...but I work, have kids and have to do other things other than game. I may only get a couple hours over the course of a few weeks when life gets hectic.

Bottom line is this service has a ton of value to a lot of people. It's more cost effective than grabbing the same games from the bargain bin. No...not all of us buy everything that looks somewhat enjoyable. We usually make choices. But now we can get a taste of a bunch of those games we weren't willing to commit to purchasing.

Depends on your view. I mean I totally agree with you on 99.6% of what you just said, and I know you kind of gave Sports titles an exception status, but sports titles not having demos is a negative, IMO. Plus, you have to look at the bigger picture too. Sure, madden got no demo but access owners still get to try it, but what about PS owners. What about PC owners "if" Fifa or NBA have no demo after this year ? Does this mean BF will no longer have MP demos and what happens if this becomes widespread and other companies join in.

There have never been enough demos, IMO, and now they are getting less and less. That is not a positive, IMO. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying EA access is negative, or bad, or has no value. Just that it is not all roses and sunshine. It is not all Positive...but what is, right, nothing is perfect.

Downloaded NHL last night. I have no intention for buying it but I'll take the 6 free hours.

^why is this guy always quoting his own tweets??

Hmm, I may be spending $30 this weekend. ;)

I was going to wait until Dragon Age released. But it looks like I'll be joining this weekend as well. I've been interested in NFS and for $30 for the year subscription and games it seems like a no-brainer.

These games are buggy as s**t. Is anyone else getting stuck on a loading screen in NFS Rivals? Madden does the same thing. If I continue having to do a hard reboot to play EA games I will not buy anymore or continue to renew my subscription .

NFS - I had the same problem but that's because I started playing it before the download finished. Since the download has been complete, I haven't had the same issue.

Edit: I didn't have to do a hard reboot once mind you.

It's not buggy. You're just trying to play it before it's finished downloading. I encountered the same issue. Just wait until it's finished downloading.

Geez. Knee jerk reaction rage.

Madden has been installed for days. Need for speed was also finished. After doing a hard restart they both work for now. But won't tomorrow.

Sorry I am a little confuse. So you actually have to paid (lower price for digit) to play the latest games like Fifa 15 (without retriction), or unless you wait out until they made the games free on EA access?

its not hard. you pay $30 for year sub (or $5 for monthly). this gets you:

- 10% off all EA downloads, inc full games and DLC
- access to games in Vault (which are usually older games, think of it like GWG and PSN+ free games)
- 6 hours gameplay time for EVERY EA game (dont need to buy), with access to them 5 days before release

that 6 hour gameplay time can vary depending on the game but so far they have all been 6 hours

Was excited for NFS but the feel and low chase cam view aren't doing it for me. But....it cost me a rental so :)
Yeah. Downloaded NFS Rivals and tried to play that after rockin out Forza 5.....Nope! Can't do it. I know they are two different games but I just couldnt handle the feedback of an arcade racer after playing F5 (which was phenomenal by the way...) I'll hang out until FH2 and give that one a try. :D

I had the opposite experience.

With Forza 5's free weekend and NFS Rivals being added to the Vault it was my first time playing either of those games and I ended up preferring NFS Rivals.

Forza 5 was a really good game, but it was all just too serious for me. Drifting at 100+ MPH in NFS Rivals with an electrified car is more the type of experience that I'm looking for.

I probably won't play either of those games ever again though. The free weekend is over and my EA sub has ran out, and I don't have any strong desire to buy either game.

If I ever resubscribe to EA Access NFS Rivals will be a game I play again though.

if its a good deal then i will sign up most likely around new years
Well, it all depends on how it proceeds. There are currently 5 games in the vault (BF4, NFS, Peggle 2, FIFA 14, Madden 25). If they add a new game per month/every other month, that is pretty good for $2.50/mo. but only if the games in the vault are ones that you will play. There's also the 10% discount to consider (I'm Best Buy GCU so I get 20% off all new physical games there). The early access is nice but wasn't really a driver for me. The vault is where I'll get my value. I traded in my physical copy of BF4 and I own Rivals digitally already. I subscribed for 3 reasons: 1. There are games I will play currently (BF4/Peggle 2) 2. I like to play sports games every now and then but don't find much value in purchasing anywhere near full price and even then it's hard to justify. 3. I like this model and for $2.50/mo, it's a no brainer IMO. That is half the price of a SINGLE retail game for a year. I know I'll find $30 of value out of it over a period of a year. Looking forward to PvZ:GW coming soon (crosses fingers).

Loving this service, have had an absolute blast with peggle, battlefield, and need for speed. Are the sports games any good?

I played through a season of Madden 25 and it was alright, which was the first Madden I've played since 2005. Not nearly as good as '15 though. Give it a shot if you're into football.

Yeah, they're all good. I'm more of a 2k sports fan but EA's sports games are solid. NBA Live is the worst but i'd play that if i didn't have NBA 2k to play.
