2014-2015 NBA Off-Season Thread

So it appears LBJ is taking the wait and see before he signs with Cavs? Those fans have been through enough lol.

No one who actually knows basketball is interpreting that headline the way you're interpreting it.

It's horrible click bait "journalism".

I was joking, I just thought it was funny yesterday when I saw it on PTI and few other shows. Of course he is not going anywhere.

The T Wolves are making the playoffs next year. It sounds like Bjelica, their 27 European PF, is finally making the jump to the NBA, and he's a stud.

Karl Anthony Towns/Nicola Pekovic
Nmanja Bjelica/Kevin Garnett
Andrew Wiggins/Shabazz Muhammad
Kevin Martin/Zach Lavine
Ricky Rubio/Tyus Thomas

Deep Bench: Gorgui Dieng, Robbie Hummel, Chase Budinger

Playoffs and they're going to be fun to watch.
Are all these players locked in for the next 2 years? If I was worth my money in the NBA I would try to "take me talents" elsewhere.

Minnesota can't lure free agents to their team because they stink and it's a mid tier to slightly lower tier market.

They can lure everyone else there because the money in Minnesota is worth just as much as anywhere else. A 29 year old Kevin Martin signed with them two years ago.

Also, I think, as with any team, if they become a power in the west in two or three years, a great player could look at their roster and think "I can win a championship with that team" and head there.

Small markets can and do compete in this league. You just have to do it like OKC or San Antonio, and build through the draft. Flip Saunders has done a fantastic job the last three years so Minnesota is off to a great start.

Oh and to answer your question, I don't believe they have any integral players who are on their way out next year. Their core is super solid at this point.

I don't know what the hell Danny Ainge is doing. But i'm not trying to figure it out either. Celtics have enough guards. I guess he offered 6 picks for the Hornets #9, so he tried.

That they think their team is going to be a contender down the line. Get in the Playoffs yes, title contender no.

I think if Wiggins and Towns become perennial all star type players and Rubio stays healthy, its not out of the realm of possibility that Minnesota adds enough supporting pieces to become a title contender.

I have always felt Rubio was nothing more than a flashy passer. Not a floor general/Playoff leader. I think you trying to give him too much credit when he has none.

Now Wiggins he could be a stud. I bet LBJ and company wish they would have kept him in Cleveland instead of going for Love.

"Nothing more than a flashy passer."

Can someone post that Phantom Pain Big Boss screaming gif for me right here?

Man I hope my Lakers get Lamarcus Alridge. Seems like he's signing with a team in Texas. We need a center/big man real bad once we drafted Russell. I thought Okafor would be it aka the guy to take the torch from kobe but the Lakers front office does not think he is. According to them, it's the PG era. Damn you Warriors!

Didn't Swaggy P take the torch from Kobe a couple of years ago? His body has been completely shot for some time now.

WOW the money the players are getting this offseason is so absurb and ridiciously. Lots of players are getting overpaid...Looks like the owners are trying to sign for less before the capspace goes up.

The only thing Swaggy P is good at is being a knucklehead. You wrote this intentionally to piss off any laker fans right?

Let me put it to you like this...

Ricky Rubio detractors claim he isn't good because he shoots it 38% from the field. They totally ignore the fact that he's basically elite in all other phases of the game.

Kobe Bryant, a SG, whose sole purpose is to score efficiently, shot it 37% from the field last year. People like to ignore the fact that he's basically dog s*** in all other phases of the game.

Compare Jordan's last year at age 40 to Kobe's 2014/2015 campaign. The guy is shot beyond belief.

Oh and apparently he made an idiotic presentation to LaMarcus Aldridge in an attempt to try to get him to become a Laker next year. The guys a complete moron.

Nick Young is a knucklehead. and he shot at a less % than Kobe did last year. Maybe he didnt get the ball that much with Kobe hogging (or even out with injuries idk) but when he did he didnt do much with it. Young cant pass, steal or block either or even play shut down D on anyone. However, he does have a smooth shot and sometimes in a blue moon shoot the lights out. But those are rare events.
So even though Kobe maybe is a moron and a jackass, he is no knucklehead and cant be replaced by Youngs career average of - 14 pts per game.

See how none of his teammates has his back?

Cavs should be scared of the Spurs a experienced Championship winner that has beat James in the Finals.

Would be an epic finals to watch if it does happen.

David West has now joined the Spurs, and Ginobili will be back another year. Read that sources said Cavs, Warriors, and Wizards offered West more money... looks like he wanted to play for the best.

Spurs with a A+ offseason.
