2014-2015 NBA Off-Season Thread

Left the team because it was going to be bad, then came back to the same team because they are good. That doesent even ..... Lol

As long as we agree that Lebron isn't the GOAT than I am ok.

I never said he was. I think there are a handful of players who are at the pinnacle of the game and calling one better definitively better than another is ridiculous. Lebron, Baylor, Jordan, Kareem, Rubio, Wilt, Magic, Shaq etc... There's no ranking these guys. They're all equally valid of being number one as the next. Some were simply in better situations and in Jordan's case, had the marketing behind him to brainwash an entire generation into thinking there can never be another player as good as him.

Rubio? Ricky Rubio?!

I actually believe that one on one, in each of their primes, Lebron would beat Jordan in a regular game.
But if they were playing against each other for a title, Jordan would win hands down every time.
Jordan played every game like it was his last while Lebron shifts his game from full out bull rush the basket, deft j shooter to patient passer, to disinterested little f***ing passive girl who acts like his teammates, refs or coaches are letting him down.
Its quite excruciating to watch this prima donna play sometimes.
This hard Land pointed out he went straight from high school to the pros and that is a mistake in the whole basketball development program. Lebron never learned how to be a good teammate.
Imagine if he did go to college for at least 2 years?
I know Kobe didnt either but he was such a natural shooter and copied his entire game on Jordan, had help from Shaq who also helped Wade and had an injury free Bynum, and Pau Gasol.
So yeah, statistically speaking, Lebron is crazy good, but a good teammate and a winner at the highest level? Jury is still out on that.

Kobe didn't had Bynum in the 2008 finals.

A good teamamte? His former team aka Miami Heats aint good for him?

its easier to win a title and you don't really have to be a good teammate when you have two of the best all stars in the last decade on your team.
jordan made sure everyone around him played at a higher level

Ricky is a good playmaker but he can't shoot at all and I don't he will ever develop a decent jump shot. He reminds me of Rondo.

If you want to say Lebron chased championships or quit on his team then you have to say the same about Jordan. The guy was a coward. He quit on the team and left to play baseball because he knew they weren't going to be good anymore. Then he comes back when the team is good to chase more championships. What a fraud.

Chicago had the same core players the following year and recorded 55 wins without Jordan so they were far from a bad team. The next year, while Jordan was still retired, they lost Horrace Grant, Bill Cartwright and Scott Williams to free agency and were really struggling. Jordan came out of retirement and they started to recover and wound up being the 5th seed eventually losing to the Orlando Magic (Shaq, Penny Hardaway, Horrace Grant). Jordan came back in the middle of the season and never was able to get fully into shape. Then the next off season they added Rodman and Ron Harper and had a stacked bench with Kerr, etc the Bulls went on to win another 3 titles.

Honestly, people are too hard on Lebron and I'm sure some are trolling you, but you aren't helping yourself by saying Lebron is a better player than Jordan. Its just not true.

He's dominant in all other phases of the game (other than shooting). His nickname in Minnesota is The Magical Unicorn.

Enough said.

Had not had a chance to post in here this week. Watched the game Tuesday. Congrats to Golden State they took care of biz and have a great year. Also props to LeBron dude tried to carry his team and put up some great numbers. I would have liked to seen a game 7, but I did pick GS in 6.

All this MJ/LeBron talk is funny. As of right now in LeBron career it is still MJ>LeBron but LBJ still has some more years to build his legacy. He is the best player on the planet right now. Comparing him already to all time greats is just foolish. I do think LBJ gets a lot of hate, I also think some people praise him too much as best ever and most of those did not watch the NBA much before the late 90's/early 2000's and were too young to see a lot of the great players in their prime.

I encourage everyone to check out blackmambamyth.com.

It basically breaks down why Kobe isn't as good as Jordan or LeBron.

Hopefully it will scrub Kobe from the last few remaining top ten lists that a few people still have.

You need to lay off the crack pipe. If Rubio's in your top 10 list, then how come the Wolves are willing to trade him? Not even peeps on insidehoops.com or realgm.com have him in their top 25 all player list. He's more in the top 50 list and top 10 pg list right now.

Ricky Rubio is not a top 25 player. He's a top 10 player all time.

Now that basketball is over it is going to be a slow wait till Football kicks off. Dog days of summer are here.

Think it is funny right after the Finals it is "will Blatt still have a job in Cleveland." Just have no head coach and let LeBron call all his own plays and call his own timeouts and make subs on the fly.

Also saw the other day they think Duncan and Manu will back one more year with the Spurs. Duncan had a great year and put up some good numbers in round 1 for his age. Glad he will be coming back if he does.

Um, the next great NBA dynasty is about to become complete in a few weeks.

Ricky Rubio
Andrew Wiggins
Karl Anthony Towns

People do realize that the lottery winning T Wolves last year were the most injury burdened team during the regular season right? No team in the NBA lost more games to injury than the Wolves. Also, as a result, Wiggins and Lavine were playing out of position all year long. Wiggins going to benefit greatly by playing alongside a ball dominant, pass first PG like Rubio. Flip ran plays for Wiggins last year like he was Lebron and Wiggins isn't that type of player.

I predict that MN will win more games next year. If only they were in the East.....

LMAO TDBANKS. He called Marcus Smart is the future of the Celtics. Now I just found out Danny Ainge is trying to trade him + 2 1st round draft picks to the 76ers for the #3 pick and Noel.

The Timberwolves just had an A+ draft. Western conference is going to have to worry about that team in about two years.

The T Wolves are making the playoffs next year. It sounds like Bjelica, their 27 European PF, is finally making the jump to the NBA, and he's a stud.

Karl Anthony Towns/Nicola Pekovic
Nmanja Bjelica/Kevin Garnett
Andrew Wiggins/Shabazz Muhammad
Kevin Martin/Zach Lavine
Ricky Rubio/Tyus Thomas

Deep Bench: Gorgui Dieng, Robbie Hummel, Chase Budinger

Playoffs and they're going to be fun to watch.
