Are Sony remasters really remasters?

Fanboy faddle, as I said. Our remasters are better than your remasters -- that's really all this article is about.

Glad we got a decent discussion about port vs. remaster vs. remake out of it, though.

No retexturing or re-lighting or improved effects.

I've seen a few like this here and there, but they are few and far between and need to be zoomed in to tell much. I think the wall looks better and the steps, but its just so insignificant other than resolution.
I've seen tens of dozens of other screens by comparison where there is almost no difference. Hell we are this far into the thread and just now get a debatable shot, but even then its zoomed in.

I don't defend broken games. That's downright pathetic.
I see you defend broken games all the time. I have yet to play a game this gen that hasn't been broken. I don't know anyone that has actually. Though it is rare to get a release of a game with content REMOVED, especially a large chunk of it.

Halo CE Anniversary?

Not really. Stuff gets cut all the time. In the case of Uncharted I would want some kind of MP but I would much rather them make the decision not to include it than to release a disaster of a game. At least you know what you are getting.

Yeah, the MP was a bummer, but I had zero problems with SP. I didn't play any co-op though. That's 4 great SP campaigns there though, so a LARGE portion of the game worked just fine.

Of course, there were headaches with the MP, but they are adressed now, and they got us ANOTHER game as a "Sorry". They definitely bit off more than they thought they could by tieing them all together, but now that it's sorted, I am very glad they did it. We now have regular Union/TAG Halo MP get-togethers every thursday.

I can see it being a disaster in the begining if you are more into the MP portion of the game, but just like battlefield, they sorted it and the game is great now, as-is.

It's labeled that way because of consumers most likely. They see a remaster or definitive on the box and it at least garners their interest. You'd arguably sell less of a game when porting it over by simply saying it's actual name with no added titles to it.

I really can't believe what I'm reading here. Halo MCC is such an amazing technical marvel. Both 1&2 have all new art assets, textures, and lighting at 60fps, yet still retain the exact game play they always have, with the option to switch back and forth at will between versions. The last gen games have some improved lighting and 60fps... all in a single package. THIS IS HOW REMASTERS SHOULD BE DONE!

Belittling what they have achieved because of match-making issues at launch is kind of silly, to me. Yes, it kind of sucks because it's Halo and obviously online is a big part of that, but that makes this package of the most superior versions of campaigns 1-4 no less amazing. That and the online play includes every Halo map ever, plus new updated versions. I'm sorry but haters of this game are people who would probably never care about Halo in the first place, IMO.

The cloud is transparent
Which is the entirety of the content between your ears.

Instead of making any actual points, you choose to mock and ridicule people for aknowledging a good game that they have actually played. You rated my post "funny", which is a post describing exactly why I think MCC is amazing. This is a game I have been playing off and on since November. Have you actually played it? Do you ever have any actual input, or do you only talk out of your ass?

How do the wall and steps look better if you mind me asking?

The "haters" are probably people that don't like waiting months for games to work.

The MP WAS broken. It is no longer. It was doing something that had never been done between multiple generations of games. It was pretty rough, but that is over. It is far better unified than it would have been separate. It's a pretty big achievement, and they have made it up to us fans. You are just a fanboy troll. Always have been, and every time you post something, it is not surprising. Now you can proceed to tell us of how you own all systems and are unbiased. No one will believe you.

Your corny and its still broken. Prove this statement wrong?
Pretty big achievement to make dinosaur games run on current console!?
Many of the issues are (as in still) network related even with the mighty overrated cloud. plz
Who's US? Xboys yeah the same who don't believe I do because Xbox is least favored by me.
News flash is least favored by most.
Oh and don't worry I plan on actually not owning a XB anymore as the console is a weak major letdown, dust collector in my home.

Its not broken but its also not great either. I would classify it as disappointing.

So only parts of games need to work now. Some low standards we have these days. And the campaigns weren't beautiful either as co-op was a mess.

Now? Sony's had broken games on their system since the early days. Gran Turismo 2 was impossible to complete to 100%. Literally impossible:

No, it's never been OK... but at least when Microsoft made the mistake, they gave people a free additional game as an apology. But no, of course it's not "ok"... but that's nothing more than a red herring. It's irrelevant.

Good try at avoiding the real issue, though... but no matter how much crap you try to pile on, it doesn't change the simple fact that MS gives more value for their ports.

So one company releases broken remasters and the other releases missing content remasters. Which one is better? Whichever company puts food on your table. If you're not getting paid why the hell you defending one over the other to the death? Lmao. We know Flynn's got a family to feed. What's the rest of you guys excuse?

Hard to really classify that as broken but nice try. You should have went with Driveclub instead.

Philosophically, I agree. If you can't do something right, own that - and scale back to what you know you can deliver. Many people internally knew the MCC schedule and scope didn't align for success, and I don't think anyone can deny that it was a poor decision at the highest of levels that led to the MCC debacle, but outside of the initial disappointment people suffered, they're left with a better end product and an even BETTER value than what was originally promised.

Anyone that spent $60 on Halo MCC now has everything that was initially promised, PLUS a whole campaign from ODST. It's the best value in gaming today.

...and THAT is WAAAAAAAAAY better than simply dropping MP altogether. Significantly. No contest.
