Sounds like someone needs to be sold on PSVR. Well I have just the video for that

So do you have to wait for day seven before you get to poke at her while she coyly slaps your hand away?

Makes me think of this song by Garth Brooks: "That Summer" with lyrics like "she had a need to feel that thunder!" , you know where I'm coming from...

Ouch. That sucks. Hope you have an uncapped data plan! This is something I worry about with Scorpio too. I'm really hoping I can plug in my external HD and just download whatever updates apply. It is probably going to be an important thing to keep in mind.

If everything is forward compatible it should just be was easy as unplugging your external from the XB1 and plugging it into the Scorpio.

I hope so, but I'm not sure given games will use different assets. At the least you are going to have to download new textures, but I'm hoping the base install doesn't have to be re-downloaded. I think it will depend on how the Scorpio manages it's compatibility. If it has a different CPU/GPU, then will they have to do emulation, or does the way the OS works make that irrelevant. I feel like Windows 10 was designed for this sort of thing specifically.

That term is an opinion of sony, not a fact. None of us have to agree it is 4k quality.

That opinion can be challenged. If enough people think that it's 4K, although not a fact, we can say that enough were convinced that it was 4K quality. ;)

Hold up. I like where you are going here. What if, what if, some people believe pro does 4k quality and these people make others believe its 4k quality? You can be the leader. Let's take over the world.

yes, unlimited data with my interwbs. and hope is at hand

Q: What if I already own a standard PS4? Is there an easy way to transfer my games, saved data, and Share captured content from a standard PS4 to PS4 Pro?
Yes. You will be able to copy your games, saved data, captured videos and screenshots, system settings, and other content from a standard PS4 to PS4 Pro using a standard Ethernet cable. This process will also work from standard PS4 to standard PS4, PS4 Pro to standard PS4, and PS4 Pro to PS4 Pro provided that both units have system software update 4.00 or higher installed, and the same PSN account is signed into both systems.

Alternatively, you can log-into PSN with your PS4 Pro, access your games and content library, and re-download your previously purchased games and content. Of course, your saved data in online storage will transfer as well.

from http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/09/08/ps4-pro-the-ultimate-faq/

and fingers x that all my US bought games will move over.

Sony wont get this past the likes of DF who will gladly point out that its not native when comparing games and sony are going to suffer once X1.5 is out because people will be falling over themselves to point out that Pro has the lesser version of games.

There are also a whole lot of young people who are convinced that a jolly old elf with 8 reindeer does a worldwide delivery of presents down chimneys every year.:laugh::laugh:

This just occurred to me- mainly because I have unlimited, fast internet- Do most people have internet connections fast/big enough to be streaming 4k content? Not having the player could really kill that all together for a lot of people. I can't imagine buying a Pro and a 4k TV, and then realizing I couldn't stream 4k media because of internet limitations. That seems to remove a number of consumers.

I can't even stream my purchased tv shows from the PlayStation store. Which sucks because Sony won't let you download an offline copy, and so you have to stream it. Sony has been very lazy too about making PS2 games backwards compatible since they'd rather push you into using their PS Now streaming service. Sony has really made an unlikable push into streaming-only for any and all digital content.

Much like with MS's original Online only policy. The infrastructure is not there yet.

Why stop there?

Imagine if you convinced yourself that PS4 Pro has a UHD Blu-ray drive.

Imagine!

Squint.

It's a bit like that scene in Hook, where they have to imagine there is a banquet of food on the table but it's all in the mind.

"Use your imagination, Peter!"

They said with the "4K option" that the devs would be making the choices on the settings but the 1080p 30 fps everything will be cranked up so I wouldn't be surprised to see the ground look better with the lower res setting.

Microsoft has already exposed their hand for Scorpio about 1.5 years of it's launch. If you think Sony isn't preparing or hasn't already prepared for their entrance, you may find yourself sorely disappointed.

Internet speeds will increase with time and prices will drop significantly.

Feels like NeoGAF circa 2013 during the Xbox One reveal all over again. Why do these companies have to do this to us loyal fans? We back you Sony, then you go out and drop the ball again. I can't believe this. For the gamers? More like for the pockets.

Your right , I was very disappointed when I found out It didn't have a 4K player.

Ok. And do you really think this will affect gaming? If so, say hello to the PS3. The only difference is Microsoft's system doesn't have the same recognition. Gamers go for games while its the casual audience that generally goes for the media side.

You're expecting Sony to sit tight and give Microsoft the opportunity to push them around all over the field when Scorpio launches just like you probably thought it would happen when Microsoft announced the S console. I doubt it'll go that smoothly. The fact Microsoft have already exposed their hand well over a year in advance gives their competition lots of room to prepare for their arrival. That's only logical.
