Continuing our family Star Wars geekdom I bought tickets to the 1st showing in our area for 7pm Thursday night. The energy and activities at the 1st showing just adds to excitement. Plus we dont have to worry about spoiler creeps.
Safe to say not much to spoil in this movie because we know what happens next lol. I know very little going in tough just what I've seen on trailers.
Watched it online. Lol at Forest Whitakers voice. DVade should have been in it more.
5/10
Ok, pretty damn good movie. I won't spoil it, but as I was watching it, I had a hard time processing everything that was going on. I was getting mixed signals being sent to my brain. It did not feel like a Star Wars movie....but it also felt like a Star "Wars" movie.
The mix signals had me feeling like I needed to time to fully take in what I saw. It truly was a huge departure from any of the standard Star Wars movies, but after taking it all in (that's what she said), after taking time to mentally process what I saw, I can come out of it saying that it was a pretty good movie.
I know exactly what you are saying Qbert. I think the best way to describe it is in the title itself, "A Star Wars Story". Plenty of references to the main movies and it fits in perfectly, but it is also very unique from them too. There is a surprising amount of depth added in 2 hours that overwhelms at first but provides plenty of ah-ha after you have time to digest.
I'll be seeing it this weekend. Weather permitting. They don't know how much snow we're gonna get yet.
It's gonna turn to rain in the morning, but it may be too nasty to travel until the afternoon.Snow....SNOW?????? It's gonna be 82 where I'm at. Send me some of that cool weather.
Just got home. That end Vader part, dammmmnnn!!!
Enjoyed it very much!
I didn't cry, but it was emotional. I felt the nose twitch. Stupid, I know.Holy s*** that part at the end. I had my son with me (6 years old) and he jumped off the chair cheering when that light sabre lite up and showed him standing there. Me... I cried a little.

The Vader hallway scene was great and fits perfectly into character of the progression. But I did have one Vader line in the movie that made me roll my eyes...
"Don't choke on your ambition"
Ugh.
