A lot of my deaths come from people I don’t even see. I hate having great weapons and gear only to get shot by someone I don’t see. I’ve tried FP mode lately and it happens even more in that mode. It gets frustrating sometimes.

I miss all the time! But in those situations it’s still better to take the shot. Eventually you’ll start getting your mark. Also the UMP is a great weapon at medium to short range but it a good AR is always king in the end game.

That isn't true at all imo. The solo games I have won were thanks to the UMP and Tommy gun. One of our closest duo games was thanks to my UMP at the top of stabler.

If anything, when in the top 5, the zone usually favours the UMP and its more accurate 3rd person shooting.

Yep, the UMP & Tommy rock it close range in those final zones. Still that extra rnage and damage from an AR is always welcome.

Now that this has been patched a few times and running a little smoother I picked it up lastnight. Had a hard time getting a handle on the inventory system and the closing gameplay area the first couple of hours but then I started getting the hang of it. Will be playing some more later today.

It gets better. There's a bit of a learning curve at first. Every death is a learning experience. So, I learn a lot :)

The inventory system is wonky but you'll quickly learn what you like and what you don't. For example I hate shotguns in this game. I'll grab one if there's nothing else but won't even waste time on shotgun bullet loops or more than a couple shells.

Pick where you jump based on what you want to learn. If you want a lot of combat, jump in the densely populated areas. If not, just aim for a couple houses far away from the busy areas. You might not get as much gear, but you have a lot less chance of running into people early on.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox Hits the 5 Million Player Mark!

This week we’re celebrating yet another milestone for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) on Xbox One: we have now passed 5M players! We’re very excited that the community continues to grow – reaching over 5 million players in less than 3 months is a major accomplishment and we’re happy so many of you are enjoying the game.

We’ve also greatly appreciated all the feedback received from the community which is helping us create the best and most realistic Battle Royale experience. We just released the ninth optimization patch on March 2, which improved vehicle feedback, sound effects, matchmaking and more, and last week we shared our spring development roadmap with details on what you should expect to see in the weeks to come, including the release of the 2nd map, Miramar. You can read more details here.

In recognition of reaching the 5M player milestone, we have a few treats to share. Today we’re debuting a new video asset for PUBG featuring – you! Well, not all 5 million of you, but some of you – our amazing community of players around the world. We’ve loved watching your gameplay stories and moments in PUBG.

We’re also celebrating interesting gameplay achievements since launch in an infographic meant for sharing.

And finally, to celebrate our 5M player milestone, we’re rewarding the community with an exclusive free cosmetic item – the PUBG5 jacket. Wear it with pride and share your screenshots and gameplay streams wearing it so we can see it in action! The PUBG5 jacket will be rewarded to all players who own and have activated a character in the game on Xbox One as of March 22, 2018 at 12:01AM PST.

The games I played today I finished 9th, 5th and 3rd with 2 kills, 3 kills and 1 kill.
Every single time I was killed by being out of bounds.

That's normal with the game. Luck is such a big part. Most of my wins have come when I simply got lucky and was inside the circle most of the time. Getting lots of top 10s is really good.

The most common way to die at the end is either out of the zone, or getting shot running in. Once the circle gets small and you are outside you are in a tough spot. Stand up and run and someone is going to be waiting for you.

Best thing is to be prone if you can. Once I get into the final 10 or so I am usually prone for the rest of the game unless I absolutely have to sprint for it.

I had a pretty funny round the other day. Squad was supposed to land at mini-Power but I was the only one that actually made it there, the rest opted for close homes to loot, I saw a bike and looted it myself, then cruised to Big Power, looted the entire thing myself. The rest of the squad was already up near Yasnaya Polyana by the time I finished, but I had a bike and plenty of health so I didn't really care about being in the blue for a bit as I finished clearing out all of that crap myself.

Anyways, I strapped with duel M4's, all the scopes, ammo, grenades and everything I need and I'm in DEEP Blue as I race towards Polyana. As I approached the road that forks off to Mansion/Lipovka I see a buggy racing towards a guy and I immediately try to run said guy over... miss. Apparently he picked that guy up, his squad mate and then another buggy comes flying out of Lipovka (the other two members of their squad and they both take off as I'm pulling a U-turn. Being the a****** I am, I figure, "hey, lets try and pull the PIT-maneuver on these guys", lol. I tried it at least three times as we're all heading in the same direction and by the third time they get angry and start shooting, whatever, I bob and weave and try to get them to shoot their own teammates while still trying to PIT stop them. It doesn't work at all, I don't think you can PIT stop a buggy... so I race up ahead of them, then try to crash into them to get them to wreck, and they finally land a few shots and take me down to like 10% health. FINE!! I'm done. (I wish I recorded all of that).

I bob and weave through bullets Matrix-style and then across a field to the first house I see in Polyana. They divert to the towards Stabler and I run into the house and start healing up and after a short bit I hear them B-lining for me as I guess they saw my smoking bike outside.

Ultra embarrassing hilarity ensues...

They crashed into my bike, lol

Right now I'm in top 10 in 25% of games played. Thats solo. I've been having some problems with the gun play and haven't been able to get a feel for it.
Hopefully I'll improve.

I still flat out just miss shots and I've been playing since day 1.

I've been on the 2nd floor of a building, camping out. Someone comes in and I am camping the stairs, aiming their only route up. Sometimes I'll just flat out miss and get killed anyway.

I once only had a shotgun but same situation. Should be an easy kill camping the only stairs up, right? This guy runs up and I keep shooting. I chase him all around the room and he runs back down the stairs. I'm out of ammo and hoping to goodness nobody was streaming that online.

It is also tough because in most shooters, you get lots of practice every round. In this, you might only get a couple kills each round. Plus who knows what guns/attachments you'll get.

It sounds like the game has its hooks in you though. Frustration and flat out missing shots is normal :)

When you finally get that win you'll love it. Last time I won a round I was screaming so hard my wife thought I was seriously hurt. She comes running in and I'm screaming "chicken dinner!". She just rolls her eyes and walks away and questions her decisions in life. :)

I actually have to resist firing up PUBG so I can play other games. If I jump in for just one round on a Saturday, forget it. Goodbye afternoon and goodbye playing anything else.

If you see me sucking at this game, just know that all my younger nephews wanted to play it first on my profile.

Just watched the DF analysis of the current state of this game. It's improved but damn the frame rate is still bad, even on X1X.

Framerate has it's moments but can get crappy. Overall though, it is infinitely more playable now than it was it launched with the improved input latency.

I'm waiting for the power of X but these devs BLOW so until they fix things... f*** this game there's way better games that work out there.
Being a multiformant gamer rox don't have to settle for s*** and blindly defend it :)

Are you sticking with your squad and communicating? If you spread your squad thin, then you aren't going to do well.

Sounds like a you problem not a game problem. I do fine in the game and it runs a lot better. Could it run even better? Sure, then again this is a work in progress and the game is far from trash.

There are bigger problems with the game beyond its performance. It’s a largely slow, boring, not very interesting cover fest that’s not very rewarding after awhile unless you get some chicken dinners. Better frame rates is not fixing that. I still play but I have largely moved on.

Its not about doing good its about the game being unplayable and if this trash is your treasure that's your prerogative.

1080p/1440p 60 fps it and i will give it another try.

Cool. So bye then. I expect you won’t need to be in this thread anymore so.
