There's a ton of hypocrisy in this thread though, that you have to at least recognize.
First of all, nearly half the XBox only members here were early adopters of the XBox One X. They purchases one of these for close to $550 dollars (after tax) because one would think they appreciate performance more than most gamers. Yet, here we are hearing many of them say the game runs fine when it regularly dips below 30fps and it's not exactly a looker. The game shouldn't dip below 30fps on the X. Hell, it probably shouldn't be dipping below 60fps either.
I am one of those people. I bought it to get the best experience I could get on console. If that is 30fps, then so be it. It is certainly better than the base version. Not every game will hit 60fps. It all depends on what it's throwing around. The game is NOT finished and they never lied about it's state. I bought the game knowing this, so it makes no sense getting too worked up over it. I've enjoyed the game quite a bit, so it's not a barrier to enjoyment anyway. We are also seeing constant improvements, so again, no reason to get angry.
You can, in no way, say it should be hitting 60fps. It is tracking a lot of stuff, is larger, and is much more intricate than Fortnite. I would say it could probably be more optimized, but that's on-going.
Secondly, we had the most bizaare discussion a few pages back where multiple members (MULTIPLE!) said that the difficult/wonky/bad aiming controls on console is what made the game so fun. People actually said this. This is straight up insanity and is arguably the dumbest thing I've read on this forum, ever (sorry guys).
I am not a fan of the aiming, and find it a valid criticism. Perhaps it's just not an issue for those people?
Thirdly, I've been accused of saying the same thing over and over, which is the game runs poorly (it does) and it controls poorly (it does). Those are the two main issues with the game. There isn't much else to take issue with. Once these two issues are fixed, the game will be in a much better state.
The performance issues have not kept people from enjoying the game though. It is steadily improving, and IT ISN'T DONE. It obviously bothers you, but not others. You don't get to say they have invalid opinions just because they can enjoy a game despite sub-optimal performance.
Fourthly, and maybe most interesting to me is the reluctance of this forum to embrace Fortnite. It's probably the most popular XBox game of all time at this point. Bigger than Halo at its peak. Bigger than Gears at its peak. Bigger than GTAV at its peak. Yet, for some reason, the forum sticks to console PUBG (I have my theories). I've heard a lot forum members say "I don't like the art direction", which is odd for a multiplayer game to begin with, but why embrace games like Sea of Thieves and Sunset Overdrive? Once again, I have my theories.
I don't care about how popular a game is. It's the dumbest argument you make. If you are prone to doing the "Cool thing", that's on you, but maybe we just want to play s*** we like despite what other people think?
Fortnite is basically a twitch shooter in comparison to the very methodical, realistic PUBG style of visuals AND play-style. I for one don't want that. It doesn't suprise me that the COD type players (of which there are many) embrace Fortnite. I don't play COD, I like Battlefield and Halo. See the link there?
Maybe people like the slow, realistic visuals and movement for this type of game over the Cartoon, fast-past ACTION of Fortnite.
Considering how POPULAR it is, I don't see why you need to crusade so hard for it. The two games are VERY different.
Lastly, I don't think I'm "just s***ting on PUBG". I've said repeatedly that despite it's shortcomings on console, that it was still a fun game. I've also said repeatedly that I think Bluehole is eventually going to get its two big issues ironed out. For the sake of them and you guys, let's hope that happens before Blizzard and Ubisoft throw their hat into the Battle Royale ring next year. E3 is right around the corner.
I look forward to different takes on the Genre. If UBI or Rockstar drum up something I like more, I couldn't give two s***s about dropping PUBG. I have no particular loyalty to it.
