State of Decay 2 is out? I didn't even realize.

Metacritic 68. Ouch. :really: Just what MS needs, another dud.
It's a horses*** score in my opinion. I have not yet run into any game breaking bugs. However, I think most of those bugs are in the co-op part of the game.

Just wait until your HUD and aiming reticle disappear while you are fighting a juggernaut, oh and it also won't let you go to the inventory screen to switch weapons and you end up losing someone you've built up pretty well because of it. As annoying as the stupid ghost door glitches are they don't ruin the game for you, losing a character you've invested time in because the game decides to break just shouldn't happen.

Yeah it came out on Friday if you bought the ultimate edition (or whatever it's called) and this week for the standard edition. That score is fair but if MS had given UL more time and help it would be much higher. As it stands now if you loved the first one you'll love this but it really is a shame that MS didn't put more resources into this project because it's a great concept that's just lacking in execution.

Oh well. At least it's only $30.

Who needs a HUD or reticle? All I need is my wits, a sharp blade and.....arggghhhh! I am being ripped apart!

It's tricky, I haven't noticed much of any kind of story yet, it's basically been farming resources over and over again but aside from the glitches and sub par graphics it's still pretty fun. The sad part is I think people would have gladly paid $60 for a more polished game with higher production values. Also I paid $50 because I bought the higher end edition which is almost what you pay for a game like GTAV that was more polished and had a lot more content. If you buy the standard edition you play less but you get less.

There isn't really a story this time round. Undead Labs learned from the Breakdown DLC that people preferred the less story approach and more survive your way approach. However, they seem to forget that the reason that mode worked was because of the challenges and goals it had, which don't appear to be in SOD2.

I've progressed a bit since then, would love to do some COOP so I can get more familiar with the game.

One thing I have noticed is that if find and put a base mod in the back of my car, that s*** disappears when I get back to the base to go and install it. It has happened twice now.

This seems to be the general opinion. It’s such a disappointment...especially on the heels of their budget increase. Missed opportunity. Sadly I think the 2nd game in any franchise is the best chance to mainstream it. This was a blown opportunity.

Yeah I would think some story would need to be there just so it seems like you are striving towards something and not just a farming for resources simulator. Basically all there is to the game so far is run out and grab stuff, smack some zombies while you are out, come back and swap a tired character for a rested one, listen to a few people bitch and then go back out.

The first one had more actual goals than this one seems to so far, maybe that'll change in time but so far I've just heard a few random things over the radio and people calling asking for help. I've had almost a dozen of the same "I got separated from my group can you take me to my safe house" missions and other than some random trading partners popping up that's been it outside of scavenging. They do have character specific scavenging missions like the doctor wants a record player because loud music makes sense in a zombie apocalypse lol.

I'm surprised to hear that there was a budget increase, it really seems like a game made on a small budget by a small group of people who's talent didn't match their vision or just weren't given the resources they needed to achieve what should have been the goal.

Anyone playing it now paid $50 :( the low price tag can excuse the lack of high production values but the bugs etc are inexcusable, especially in a MS published game.

Game breaking bugs in a game with perma death. That doesn't sound like fun.
Haven't had any issues other than clipping and a rare door that is finicky to close with the Y button.

Game is super fun, speaking from actual experience.

Hasn't happened yet

The game wants me to install a generator, but I refuse to do it. We don't need power right now and I plan on moving. Rather wait.

I was reading that its probably a good idea to use a character you're not too invested in for co-op. Apparently most of the glitches occur while in co-op and glitches could cause a character to die due to no fault of your own. So now I know if and when I do co-op I'll be sure to select my group's weakest link.

Yeah that was my plan. Remember as well that your weakest link will eventually no longer be that as they gain XP for playing so if you manage to keep them alive after extended co op you might need to swap to another.

I almost never take people with me on missions, I'm too afraid to lose them. I guess I'm a control freak lol.

Oh good, I’ll have your expendable suicide squad backing me up!
