To me its very clearly a case of if were happy with Xbox going in you are still happy. If you weren't you still aren't. Neither Microsoft or Sony did anything to change anyones opinions about their current systems.
Actually, I think that translates into another arm chair developer or gaming CEO who trying to predict something they have no idea about - and to most likely end up wrong.....I expect there to be Xbox fanboys here but come on. It was a GREAT show in terms of presentation and time just flew by. But it wasn't an "Xbox show" IMO. It was more like a state of gaming today show.
We now know MS has purchased some amazing studios but it takes a long time to make AAA games. We also know Halo Infinite is at least 2 years away. So to me that translates too not much else happening this gen, join us for Xbox 4.
Microsoft has all ready stated that more is on the way, certainly. And not just stuff from the new studios (not to mention more studio acquisitions..) Again, they aren't going to waste the next two to three years to display great software on the best console hardware in the business. Now is the time to make a big statement, grow further good will and loyalty for the brand and keep fans excited. You gotta be high to think their just gearing up for next gen and will coast the rest of this gen out.
Seriously? What show did you watch? They are absolutely gearing up for next gen.
Are you stating that you believe those new studios and new games they announced are not for the Xbox One?
I watched the show again, but fast forwarding. In my opinion not only did MS' first party stuff seem to be the best of the big two, but their show was the most fluid, most exciting. They touched on nearly everything we have been asking for. New studios, new games sequels, more marketing exclusives, no VR, no Kinect, no dancers, no singers, no cars on stage, no numbers on the big screen that 5 billion unique people cut heads off of zombies in State of Decay 2, and just blew us away with what we can expect on Xbox. Sony was left in the wind. I was surprised that Sony spent that time on 4 games that we have already seen at multiple E3's, and didn't announced a single new first party game. No date for Death Stranding, no date for Ghosts. Sony wasn't even in the same ball park as MS. It's like Sony didn't even give us a reason to run out and buy their platform if we haven't already. The rest of the few games they did show were multiplat as well.
I am also glad that MS put the naysayers aside mentioning they are already working on the next Xbox (but but MS is selling off Xbox!).

LOL!!You may have preferred the XBox exclusives at E3, but there's no way they compete with the PS4 exclusives based on their future Metascores. Sony is in a different league than MS right now.

Ghosts wasn't a new IP announced at this E3, it debuted in 2017 (no release date). The Last of Us 2 was announced in 2016. Spiderman was announced in 2016. Death Stranding wasn't a new IP announced, it debuted in 2016 (no release date). 4 games we already knew about and no new first party exclusive announced.2 new Ips. A re-imaging of an IP and the first sequel to one of last-gens most critically acclaimed games. Compared to what? A Halo 2201 teaser, Gears 5, Horizon 4. Oh! lets not forget Crackdown that was at E3 2014, 15, 16,17 and 2018, lolz...still no grand multiplayer destruction either.
Sorry, so many shows. They all 4 have been at previous shows before...all since at least 2016 with the exception of Ghosts which is 2017.At PSX in December

When does Gears 5 release exactly? When does Halo Infite release exactly?
lol.

Ask MS.2019...lol. How specific. When in 2019, Hedon?
So two indie games, an expansion to an old indie game, XBox's Days Gone, a 6th Gears of War game in 12 years made by a suspect studio, and another racing game.
