Assassin's Creed Origins

Had a really cool moment tonight where I was swimming and smashed a pot full of oil and got covered in it. As I continued to swim I left a rainbow coloured slick in the water as it slowly washed off me. The effect was awesome and looked really realistic. I also just realized today I can throw a body on my horse and ride around with it.

I rented the game from gamefly when it came out but have yet to finish it. I kinda got bored of it if I'm being honest. I think I may just be over AC. I've liked them less and less for a while now, I dunno. AC:O was definitely a breath of badly needed fresh air, but it just isn't really doing it for me like I thought it would... :really:

Nope. I honestly prefer the old way. At least it was it's own thing and not a poor imitation...

The combat is the only thing I don't like about this game. I stopped playing for 6 weeks because if it. It's better for me now after unlocking nearly every skill and getting poison and fire weapons.

There is no social stealth, something that was initially supposed to be a pillar of the brand. There is maybe 5 assassination animations, and thats being generous, it's typically always the one most generic grab & stab from behind. The combat in this one is pretty boring I thought. I always thought the combat should be super lethal in these games. We should be able to fight a bunch of guys, we're supposedly highly trained assassins. I guess Origins can kind of get away with it as he is the first, and hasn't trained to be an assassin, but still. I liked the combat in Brotherhood the most probably...

That's what I've been hoping for. It took me 75+ hours to get flaming weapons, then had very little left to do in the game after doing so.

New game + coming

Turns out I was one mission from the end, just beat it the other day. Will be sending it back to gamefly before NG+ is out and will prolly never play the game again. It was ok, I didn't hate it or anything, but I'm not blown away by it either. I'll check out the future titles but honestly kinda hope Bayek is not a recurring character. Also Ubi needs to learn how to make a skill tree with fewer passive buffs and more active abilities...

I'm now at 71 hours level 35 and 2600+ kills. I really love the game. Pretty shocked that others here just think it's ok to be honest. A lot of gaming sites even had in the running for game of the year in 2017.

After playing horizon, shadow of war and then this, I gotta say I really wanted to be able to slide to crouch in AC:O, and to go into slow-mo when I aim the bow during said slide...

They have the slow mo jump aim, but it's not slow enough to be useful, or even fun.

Ha, yup kinda felt the same way. I had some fun with it, but yeah, it needed to be a bit slower than it was. That, and slow-mo slide aiming, I would've enjoyed the game a lot more. It wasn't bad, but I don't think it totally revived the series for me...

I've gotten high enough in level and the best weapons that I don't even have to be stealthy anymore. I just walk into the middle of a fort with 25 guys and I'm like "let's rock bitches". Then I slaughter everyone.
