The last time I played one, I don't remember the system feeling like Middle-Earth's. Unless it was a very poor version of it?
It used to be in AC but I don’t know when it changed. It was never as well done as it was in Shadow of Mordor or Batman. I’m glad to see the back of it.
The other thing I don’t like about this game is how many hours I’m going to sink into it. Soooo much to do, goodbye free time.
Also like others have said, I don’t really have the willpower to wait for the X1X, so I’ll have to revisit a lot of places next week to check out the upgrades.

It was in that it consisted of being surrounded and waited for the counter icon to show up. I enjoyed it, personally, even if the skill bar was pretty low. It did make for neat looking fights. The new one is definitely more along the Witcher 3 lines of locking on opponents, block/parry, and dodge. There is much more emphasis on Ranged capabilities, too. I am a stealthy player, but it's nice to make the fights more dynamic.
You think Black Flag was the best AC made? I never finished it because the story was so-so and the sea battles were redundant. AC2 is still my favorite.
Nope, I think AC Origins is the best one they've made. But before that, yes, absolutely Black Flag. Playing as a Pirate and those ship to ship battles were so much fun and it was a nice change from the formula they were using.
So I followed the advice someone gave to go ahead and try it for a little while on the vanilla XB1 before the X hit. I made it to Siwa and ran about a little there, and it was a nice experience and all that but I restarted the game on the X and it is the glorious tits. I ran about quite a bit in Siwa before progressing the main story line, and then after leaving and expecting to come back at the next city, finding myself instead in the desert with a warning that I'm still significantly underleveled for the next phase of the main quest but having it thousands of KM away just meant time for more 'sploring. Climbed a pyramid. Got rekt by some bad ass hyena, presumably. Good times.
I agree. Black Flag is my favorite. I thought the pirate theme was great fun. To me it was a pirate game with assassins creed added.
Kings soldiers will attack on sight of you meet them on the road or enter a base. There is no wanted level mechanic. All you need to do is get about 100 meters away and hide if you are getting overwhelmed.
This game, in 4K HDR, just is simply the best looking thing I have ever played. Seriously.

Yeah the bubbles are fantastic touch. Have you come across the flies yet? I found a cave in the mountains with some dead bodies covered in flies. I hadn’t seen that on the standard version. Locusts as well. I saw a swarm of them at a farm eating crops. Also not something I’d seen before.
Those guys are dicks. They f***ed me up on a few occasions but now it’s pay back time.
What is the shield symbol under each area name for? For example:Alexandria shows 9 shield 12 for me.
