Captain America: The Winter Soldier [New poster included!]

To absolutely nobody's surprise, Marvel look to have another massive hit on their hands. The excellent Captain America: The Winter Soldier has scored a very impressive $75M internationally over its opening weekend. The sequel is expected to earn upwards of $80M when it opens in North America on April 4, but it'll have to make $85M to match Marvel's last BO beast, Thor: The Dark World.

Anyone finish seen the movie? I haven't (plan to watching next week, hopefully).

Saw it this morning at a free sales event for Dell. I really liked it, it felt a bit more mature than the first movie. Obviously, as with every Marvel movie, there are a couple post credit scenes. I'd give it a 9/10 and think it is definitely the best of the stand alone Marvel films.

Scarlett Johansson is super sexy as the black widow! If only she was Australian. Just brought a lot of movies with scarlett in it.Now I've watch winter assault twice already

I saw the movie on the 26th here. I thought it was great. As someone said above, it's a bit more mature, which is a good thing. The Black Widow was the real surprise to me, she was awesome. They left so much open, so much open.

I liked the name drop. Next Marvel stand alone am confirmed.

Yeah, they dropped a name in the movie that made me all kinds of giddy. Which is funny because I didn't give two s***s about the character until his stand alone animated movie. Now I seriously want a big screen adaptation.

Now that shield is gone what will they do with the TV show?

Fantastic movie. CA was much more powerful in this movie. He seemed kind of lame in the first one. In this one he was seriously whoopin ass. Winter Soldier was also a beast. I don't know all of the history of CA but I'm sure this part was important since they felt the need to show him still alive but all mess up
Who is that Striker guy supposed to be? If I'm remembering his name right. He was all burnt up but still alive.

Crossbones...well known Red Skull follower. They seemed to have omitted his racism..

Gotta be honest the Batman movies seem kind of boring, I mean they're good but there's no superpowered element to them. Seem kinda barebones compared to what we are getting from Marvel.

Anyone else have a s***eating grin on their face during the Falcon action scenes?

The Dark Knight is still the best solo superhero movie, Superman/ Batman is going to do great. Will be there day 1 Ill wait for the bluray of the Cap movies.
Winter Soldier was a far better movie in my opinion...it had far more people carrying the weight. The story was also superior...not to mention action scenes that destroy anything Nolan has ever done.

I was worried about Falcon, but they made him far more interesting than the comic version ever was.

I meant box office wise, but judging from IMDB users The Dark Knight is still a better movie, I'm sure I will share that opinion when I finally see Winter Soldier.

People talk like it's a competition, but the truth is, Marvel's mainstream success is good for ALL comic book movies.
Batman was fine on his own, but films like Green Lantern, crap as it was, wouldn't even have been considered if not for Marvel making a second-tier hero like Iron Man a mainstream success.

Well at a recent Captain America panel they started trash talking because Superman/Batman is opening against supposedly Cap 3 saying it doesn't have a chance. Which they are probably feeling stupid about now seeing as how the MOSs opening weekend of 116 mil is much better than Cap 2s. I'm looking forward to both of them.

In my humble opinion, $$$ don't mean anything when it comes to opening weekends at Box Office. For example, look at Avatar. It started out very slow and, blam, #1 movie in entire world ($2,782B, non-inflation). I'm curious to see how long Captain America 2 have the "staying-power" to climb up the money at the Box Office within the next 3 weeks before Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes out. My prediction for Cap 2: $600+ million worldwide. Oh, and I'll be seeing Cap 2 tomorrow morning! Cannot wait!!

And as for DC movies, I have nothing but love for Nolan's Batman Trilogy films. WB needs to step up and stay on feet if they want to keep up with Marvel Studios. I am very exciting, actually, to see Batman Vs Superman and I will see it in theater!

Anybody see the movie yet? I was planning on it over the weekend, but couldn't find the time. It looks awesome.

I don't pay too much attention to that kind of trash-talking. I think MOS2 has more to fear from its own troubled development than Cap3.
Of course opening on the same day, people will be forced to choose, but movie tickets aren't $400 like a console, it's not a zero sum game and comic fans are very unlikely to watch Cap3 and NOT watch MOS2, unless it gets ravaged by bad reviews, in which case it's totally unrelated to the "competition".

I have a feeling that Superman vs Batman will move the date (eventually). Doesn't make sense to release both movies in a single day, though.

Fantastic movie. I'd say the best Marvel movie yet. In some ways that might be bad because I'm not sure how the next Thor movie will manage to compete. I'm pretty sure Avengers 2 will do just fine.

One more hour!!!!!!!!! I. Cannot. Wait!! Will let you all know what I think of it in couple of hours. :D OMG! I'm having the biggest and nerdest smile on my face right now!
