Yeah, traditionally launch window units are usually sold out, I think at a year or so the balance will start to take form. Honestly, as long as both sell well enough for each other to stay in the industry then I'm happy. Both seem to have opponents keen on trying to sell off the divisions (unlikely I know), but further financial difficulties for either company could force their hand(s)

I would've thought that, prior to all the reversals. But after all the 180s, and with a healthy launch lineup plus the Kinect/TV stuff (which probably has more mass appeal than we're giving it credit for), they will sell about the same, with a 10 to 20% edge for Sony because of the lower price and good buzz (assuming no blue lights of death). At least that's what my little Pachter doll tells me.

You're right. Good thing Microsoft hasnt created one advertisement to show off any of those features, or spent ungodly amounts of money creating them. Nothing worse than educated consumers. Let em find out on their own for f*** sakes! Yeesh!

TLDR: Stop banking on a $500 machine selling on its TV features when there are a dozen dozen dozen devices that do most or all of that s*** for a fraction of the cost.

At launch I expect PS4 to do very well based on the evidence. XB1 will gain more sales traction with a price drop (maybe a kinect less version) along with Titanfall. I don't think casuals will be flocking to XB1 for kinect 2.0 or snap or tv, etc. at $500.

PS4 has the best price/performance ratio over XB1 and PC. The "just get a PC if you want power" argument is a red herring.

Go to neowin if you want to see what the future of XB1 forums will look like. It's full of bitter MS "fans" constantly insulting anyone who doesn't want Windows 8, phones, or tablets as "afraid of change, cowards, ignorant, insert insult here".

hmm no he is right as a sales person well unless your company forces you to you give the customer what they want at a price they want to pay. If I remember right the TV stuff locked behind live too is it not? If that is the case yeah that is a lot of case to talk to my tv.

When you think about it this is pretty true. I mean at the end of the day I feel like the only real thing xb1 has is snap which is multitasking. I don't really understand why that is so important. Important enough to sacrifice graphics? I really don't think it is, especially when I can multitask on my pc. I don't even have cable tv. I end up downloading everything that my gf and I watch and stream it to our tv with WDTV Live box. I hope snap turns out to be something amazing and worth it once I give it a try.

Those resolutions were up to the devs, which did get their dev kits later than when these devs got the ps4 dev kits. There is no 50% gap.

Who is the one denying that there is a power gap in the face of BF4 (56% higher resolution and higher frame rate on PS4) and COD (125% higher resolution on PS4), not to mention the hard truth of the actual specifications? So we have specifications and we have results. What more do you need? Don't tell me the devs have maxed out the PS4 on day one but the X1 will continue to get more and more powerful... it's magic!

Both devs said it was their decision to go with the revolutions they chose for the XB1. That does not mean the XB1 is not capable of 1080p (Forza, NBA 2k14 ect.) The Ps4 is not 50% more powerful than the Xb1. At launch you will see there will be no major difference.

Surveys of PS4's popularity say otherwise. A lot of people care. You seguey from "no one really cares" (a completely false statement backed by no evidence) to the 1 out of 3 people who don't know or care and are buying an XB1 anyway.

There are several surveys that you can look up, mostly of the general public, and they're all in favor of PS4 2 out of 3. Online auction charts are a good indicator of demand, your ignorance of them doesn't make them useless evidence. The fact that it's on Ars Technica should tell you they don't throw around worthless statistics. Sorry.

Technically speaking GPU wise the gap is somewhere between 40%-90% depending on the metric being talked about but these numbers don't directly translate to 40-90% more stuff on the screen.
