anyone get to the sunflower guy? there's just no way I'm ever beating this guy :(

also I made a bad purchase in the shop and wish I could go back to an earlier save or something to change my mind on it.

most of it has been alright though. it's massive trial and error and some luck here and there if you're not great at using lots of buttons with little to no time to think while dodging projectiles that you can't help but run into like an idiot (aka playing video games like they used to be)

at some point I'm going to go watch those crazy people who love this s*** and watch in awe as they destroy this game.

I think the frogs are on the river boat. I had a go and did pretty well but I'm gonna finish those guys another day when I'm more able to focus. my big problem is when the main frog does his spin thing I always miss the timing even though I'm fully expecting it. anyone have tips for that bit? should I full jump then dash?

Only face shots hurt that boss and that's the one time I used the green homing gun on all the other enemies. Also use the smoke bomb dash.
 
Tried to purchase Cup Head yesterday but the Xbox store was having issues.
Downloading now :txbsmile:

Get ghost bomb. It lets you dash through enemies and projectiles without taking damage. Essential.
 
I suck at this :) Doing the first run and gun. Parrying doesn't always work...can die trying to parry. Still liking this game alot.
 
Looks great. Glad it turned out well. Those guys put their houses on the line to make it happen. And Xbox needed a win.

I can tell from the impressions and reviews that it's not the kind of game I would enjoy, though. I'd find it too frustrating.

Yes, jump straight up then dash. You have more time than you think.
 
Yeah the smoke bomb dash is very useful. I finally beat the frogs.

So I have to beat Cagney Carnation to move on right?

That's what I'm focusing on now....this one's gonna take a while.
 
Played for a few hrs last night. I decided to break out the Elite controller, after it had been on hiatus for a good 6 months or so. Best decision ever! That funky metal D-pad alone, made the game a lot more payable for me. I also turned the frame interpolation off (from low) on my projector, for better response time.

Really tough game! Fun and beautiful, but tough. It's kind of crazy that they don't start you out in easier territory first. It's like a quarter-muncher of old, right from the start.
 
I finally beat Cagney Carnation was literally about to get killed by a vine but I made it!

Was so happy until I found out I HAVE to beat Hilda Berg to move on :( Not sure I can do it but I'll give it a go.
 
Watched a couple videos of this. It looks great, I’m sure I would break a controller throwing it across the room. Think I’ll stay away from this lol.

I didn't find her that bad actually it maybe I just lucked out.
 
Ugh. Reading through some of the discussion on the Steam forums. Quite a bit of people saying that the game is 'too hard' and needs an easier mode.

Obviously some folks never played Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox.

Easily the hardest game I’ve ever played. It’s unbeatable for me. Second Island is impossible as a single player. There’s five islands?
 
I just realized I've been playing on Simple mode the entire time. Is that easy mode??

I think there's 3 and then a finale.

Yes this is a very hard game but some people are just wired for this type of stuff. I'm not and I'm ok with that, but I already know I will never get beyond the second island and may take quite some time to get off the first one, I'll tackle it again another day just need to beat the flying level which I'm just not good at.

I've gone ahead and watched some videos of later bosses and it just ain't gonna happen for me.

I'd actually like an invincibility cheat code sometime later just to personally experience all the awesome design of the game, because without one I will never see the majority of this game (sad I know)

I'll keep plugging along for now.
