Destiny was released with much left out and this is widely known.
Launch and year 1 content was one part of the 3 parts.
TTK and its content was another part/year as was ROI.
To accurately rate Destiny one would have to take the game as a whole.
Doing it this way the game is GREAT and still one of the top played games and this will help Destiny 2 to soar.

Well if that is your logic then then we have to wait still cause D2 is using a lot of stuff they ripped from original D1.

So what you're saying, then, is you spent a year playing a game that wasn't great until you spent another $40 to 'upgrade' to get you the game you probably should have had initially, and then it was GREAT, which is why I made the comment that if this is the MP game of the year, the year may be 2018 (or, heck, 2019) when they release whichever $40 expansion they need to for the game to be GREAT.

No. All he is saying is spin cause his precious got crapped on and makes his fav quality metric useless.

TTK was far from great. Its story was still a disjointed POS, the expansion made everything else irrelevant.
 
TTK was great and won some GOTY awards.
Your taste sux and you putting so many hours into a game you are such a negative nancy is some weird s*** but you already know this.
 
Supposedly they've got more dev studios working this time around to get more content, as that was the issue with Destiny 1's launch (and the fragmented story that changed a bunch of times until it made zero sense).

Destiny was ok at launch. The launch was technically smooth, the game just lacked content early and the first expansion was junk (I think that was the worst part)

However just like any game, people are going to burn out on it at some point. People always seem to be shocked and angered by that.

I paid $60.00 for Destiny when it came out. I shouldn't have to pay an extra $60.00 for the game to be good.

To compare TTK to a stand alone game isn't apples to apples if you ask me.

Don't buy mmo or mmo like games cause these types of games constantly change.
No excuse for it to release in the shape it released in but for us who stayed with it...things got much better unfortunately we had to wait till after launch to get that much better.

Because unlike you I don't fanboy. I give credit where it is due and criticism where it is due. This game had and has way too many issues. I don't give a s*** if some website gave it GOTY. It was prolly one of those sites that hype the crap out of it and than shat on it at launch.

All this bulls*** cause you can't handle the fact it gott 76 on a pointless website. You enjoy/ed it and that is all that matters. You don't see me spinning s*** when you go " Division lol."

Any special happen once I reach level 40? I am almost at level 38. My other level shows 190.

If I remember correctly there's a lot of higher level gear that unlocks at 40 (they could have removed that along the way at some point). Can you use exotics yet? If not those should open up.

I have an exotic Cloak, but I am not using it because it is only 170. I am using a rare cloak right now which is 194 so that my light level is higher. I think that is the only exotic thing I have in my gear.

Yeah I could be mis-remembering but I think all that opens up at 40. Once you hit you should be able to buy exotics from Xur when he shows up on Friday and the weekend. Hopefully you have some strange coins around, as that's "his" currency.

3 of coins are great to buy once you hit 40. Those give you a higher chance to get exotics. Activate one before an activity (crucible, strikes) and increase your chances at an exotic.

Once you hit 40 your light should start jumping up. Try and equip yourself with the highest light level you can, as your current level determines what you get dropped. If you are looking to get to 400 as fast as possible, best to be max light even if it isn't the best loadout. Don't waste resources infusing.

Also, if you are looking for easy legendary marks and legendary engrams public events are great. You can hit 1 event per day and they should be mostly soloable for you.

At this point just decide what you want to do between now and D2. Nothing carries over so only grind if you just want to for the fun.

Yeah, I have some coins, but no clue what they are for. No idea what infusing is.

Thank you!!! I am really liking this game a lot, glad I bought Taken King. I am glad that people join me co-op in strikes, it's fun. But I still never have anyone join me through my story missions. I mean, I see them when I start, but I just follow my map icon to the destination and nobody else goes with me, so I do it alone.

And I haven't figured out how to "complete" a patrol so that it shows completed on my planet.

You have to invite people to your fireteam to coop story missions.

Patro's don't complete.

Infusing is taking your rare 194 cloak and upgrading your exotic cloak to 194. You should see this uption in the items upgrade menu.

Xur is the only place to use strange coins. He comes on friday. Use the web to find where he is.

Yes. If you complete a patrol beacon task that beacon will get another mission once you go to orbit or spend enough time in another section.

My OCD wants those flashing NEW icons to go away for each planet so there isn't a triangle on the planet when I complete it :(
 
Xur shows up very early Friday morning. Let us know how many strange coins you have by then and we'll let you know what to get.

Is there a strike playlist left for people that low level? If so, jump into that. Patrols will take you forever to level up and just keep appearing. I mean forever. Go see the bounty robot in the tower (just as you spawn in go up and to the left). Now, most of those bounties are simple (kill 50 fallen), so grab those and then do patrols at the same time (ignore the ones that are really time consuming).

Then combine that with public events (you may be a little low level to solo them but sometimes people are around). The earth and moon ones

Overall I always have the most fun farming strikes with randoms.

I am thinking that I should have actually PLAYED this game when I bought it on launch day and not wait 3 weeks before D2 releases. Oh well, once D2 comes out, I will be all over this s*** like Webster on Gary Coleman.
