Xur shows up very early Friday morning. Let us know how many strange coins you have by then and we'll let you know what to get.

Is there a strike playlist left for people that low level? If so, jump into that. Patrols will take you forever to level up and just keep appearing. I mean forever. Go see the bounty robot in the tower (just as you spawn in go up and to the left). Now, most of those bounties are simple (kill 50 fallen), so grab those and then do patrols at the same time (ignore the ones that are really time consuming).

Then combine that with public events (you may be a little low level to solo them but sometimes people are around). The earth and moon ones

You definitely can and should combine things like patrols, bounties and even quests where you can.

Overall I always have the most fun farming strikes with randoms.
Wait I can only trade my coins in on Friday morning??? I am at work. WTF.

To accurately rate Destiny one would have to take the game as a whole

Then Bungie and Activision should release the whole game from the outset if they want high(er) review scores. Its not like Destiny didn't have a long development or arrived on time

Xur is in the reef. You can google exactly where (usually you have to go down the stairs kind of backwards from where you spawn).

He's selling the Last Word which is a fun hand cannon, but you're probably better off grabbing 3 of coins. As Val says, check out how to use them and increase your drop chances.

Xur stays around until very early Sunday morning (like 4am eastern US time). I think you have to be level 40 but I'm not sure (been so long).

I am like a sliver from level 39. I thought at the end of my last story mission last night it would have rolled over to 39, but still not...BARELY! I will hit level 40 by tomorrow morning. Just got over 200 light as well.

You should be fine for Xur, just hit it by Saturday. Make sure you check the bounty boards and combine those with local patrols. You can do bounties and patrols at the same time and double dip. You can even combine bounties.

I don't even know what bounties are or where the boards are.

Looks like you maybe hooked to grinding like a methhead is to bad teeth....
I haven't been this addicted to a game in quite some time. Which is why I think I became addicted at the right time with methhead 2.0 coming out on 9/6.

Should I get the Destiny 2 $89.99 version instead of the $59.99 version? It says it includes expansion 1 and 2. So the $30.00 extra I pay, would that be a savings vs. buying the expansions separately?

I screwed myself when I did that with D1. I got burned out and tired of the grinding and never went back to the first 2 DLCs I had bought.

If you think you'll be playing this for a long time, yes. If you think you'll tire of it, no.

I will just wait and buy them as they come out, JUST IN CASE. Good call.

You get bounties from the robot guy in the tower. As soon as you spawn in the tower look straight ahead. There's a stairway down to the vanguard and other things. Don't take that. Instead take the left stairs up and there's a robot vendor standing there. He'll give you missions like "kill 50 fallen". They are super easy and can be combined. You can avoid the ones that are about killing yellows for now. Those usually take too much time to be worth it. Every day you can get new missions, but you can hang on to a bunch at one time. Like I said you can combine them too so if you get "kill 50 fallen" and "kill 50 enemies with headshots" you can do those at the same time. Kill fallen with headshots and two bounties get cleared. Add a patrol in as well and you can get more xp.

ok sweet, thanks dude!

Hey Hedon, you might want to take it easy playing Destiny. There will be plenty of content to go through for the sequel and you don't want to experience burn-out prematurely. Going from my experience with the first game there will be lots of required grinding to get the stuff you want. And if you have an addictive personality like myself you might find yourself playing more than you should in pursuit of that new cool looking shiny.

I think the one thing I'm most excited about are Lost Sectors that have been described as dungeons to explore with a Boss waiting at the end. I just hope Bungie learned enough lessons from the first game to strike a good balance for loot drops. I can still remember how stingy the first game was when it first launched.

Thanks Busterman. I think I might just get to level 40, and leave it as that. Then take the advice given above from every great person here and use that for D2. It only makes sense.

PC pre-load for the beta test is live right now if you haven't already started it.

Getting PS4 and PC. Probably play it first on PS4 Pro, then main the PC. Put this new GTX 1070 my gf bought for my birthday to good use. :bang:
What have you been so busy doing this past year or so? You rarely post here anymore.
