DOOM

4k on both consoles seems 2 good 2 be true

I think it is. Pro and X1X

If you look at the blood stain on the wall, the helmet and the box he's leaning against, one is noticeably softer.

One has more detail but worst contrast levels...
Both pale in comparison to the PC version.
Its still great to see them update both versions.

Played the first couple lvls last night, awesome game! The graphics are top notch and it's buttery smooth, not a dropped frame to be found.

I'd like to play this again but I still have Wolfenstein 2 to play.

Love DOOM, but the Wolfenstein remakes just didn’t click with me. I wish they were done in the DOOM style instead of adding a bunch of story and unskippable cutscenes.

I feel the opposite. I loved the story in the new Wolfie games, and the emphasis on it. It was a nice foil to the Doom experience, while still being in the same vein. Doom is all action all the time and story light, Wolfie is action set pieces punctuated by some (great) story heavy breaks. Both are visceral, adrenaline heavy id style FPS' at their core that I love.

Saw 4k update. It's looks a little more crisp on my RoG Laptop?

I've also just about decided I'm to play DOOM sound tracks clips in my semitruck at work lmao.

Replaying this now, this game plays like a dream!

Any news of a sequel yet?

Doing my second playthrough of Doom VR now. I really like the DS4 in VR, but I love the aim controller with this. Holding a peripherical gun and actually aiming down the sights in virtual reality has to be tried. I actually can move better in VR than I can with a controller. Its incredible in Doom because you can hold the weapon sideways without turning and shoot and enemy to your left or right like an action movie, combined with the already satisfying combat it adds another layer to combat.

And then the scale of the monsters. Holy fvck they're huge in VR.

My RoG laptop is VR Ready. I might look into this.

Do you recommend a particular VR brand for this kind of gaming?

I'm on PSVR. We have the AIM controller, it basically looks like a gun with analog sticks. It works perfect for shooters, but its limited to that. With Oculus and Vive, I think both of their standard controllers are pretty good though, definitely better than our Moves.

Damn about to head out for a bike ride. Gotta remember to check this out when I get back. I haven't been playing many games lately the last month or so, but knowing games like Rage 2 and Doom Eternal are coming soon, I feel like my hype levels will be back in no time.

Now that Doom is on Game Pass I need to give it a play through on the X. I haven’t played Doom since Doom 3 on the OG XBox.
