Wasn't sure if there was one. I looked.

Anyway, it's out next week, Nov. 18th.

Reviews are coming out.
Here's one from Destructoid, 9/10!
Here's one from Joystiq, 4 1/2 stars!

Here's the 101 trailer.

its a game that is on my xmas list and hopefully by then any major bugs in the game will have been sorted out, somewhat akin to the weapon bug in the last game that meant i had to start the game again... from the beginning, not fun at all when you've spent 10's of hours finding collectables.

SO. MUCH. FAIL.

Far Cry 4's map maker does not include support for competitive multiplayer levels, game director Alex Hutchinson has confirmed.

Fans of the series feared the worst after an early Twitch stream of the title appeared to show editing options for the game's challenge maps only.

The news spawned an angry 126-page threadon Ubisoft's official forum, where fans complained that it was the first time in the series that full multiplayer map-making wouldn't be available.

But Alex Hutchinson has now said that multiplayer map maker support may be added after release.

"I direct the game but I don't set budgets or timelines," Hutchinson explained via Twitter. "We always squeeze in as much as we can, but we're always prioritising.

"We're going to keep supporting the game so hopefully we can get it done post release. No promises but we will try."

Far Cry 4's map maker will let you create custom levels for four mission map types - Assault (kill all enemies), Hunt (kill all animals), Outpost (capture an outpost) and Extraction (survive from point A to B).

You'll then be able to share your maps online and download creations from other people.

All aboard the UBISOFT HATE TRAIN! Seriously, entitlement much? 126 pages. So they had a different idea of what to use the map making for. Good god, what is wrong with people? Not every game is the same, and devs are going to focus time and money on the things they think should be in their vision for the game. Don't like it? DON'T BUY IT!

f*** me, get over yourselves. If you read the Assassin's Creed forum you'd think no games ever released with framerate issues or "missing" features before this generation. It used to be when a game was released, that's the way it stayed. Now we have the great benefit of devs being able to patch and improve their games post launch, and everyone bitches when it its not 100% perfect. Talk about first world problems.

Far Cry 1 was known for it's multiplayer custom made maps. It was probably THE number one thing about the game. Shame they keep taking it away a little at a time.

Very solid reviews. Most seem to say that the game doesn't bring much new to the table, relative to Far Cry 3, but it's a very good open-world shooter. I'll pick it up when I have some time, although I'm going with Dragon Age first.

I rarely play multiplayer so does not bother me at all I'm pumped about the reviews preordered and downloaded for Xbox one.

Sorry, but I could care less to make maps, or play someone else's half-baked creations. This game is all about the SP, at least for me. I'll definitely try out Co-op and MP, but my experience with most strong SP games is that the MP gets for gotten, no matter how good it is.

It could be argued that the original FarCry was more about the MP than the SP. It was almost like the latest Battlefields, where the SP feels tacked on and the MP was where the game is at.

As each FarCry has come out, they have been focusing less and less on the MP.

Oh how I missed playing on this COD map that was made in FCI:

Yay, thanks for making a thread! I can't believe this game hasn't had more discussion. Off to read the initial reviews!

Far Cry 1 really has nothing to do with the rest. Different developer, different style of game.

With Dragon age out on the same day I am not sure if I will pick this up. Thinking I might wait till the slow period next year and then pick it up on X1.

GamesRadar:
"Far Cry 3 remains the series' peak, but Far Cry 4 is a lovely-looking, accomplished offering that suffers from lackluster writing and an odd lack of purpose." - Edwin Evans-Thirlwell [Full review"

I still need to beat FC3 got it on steam for cheap a few months ago, thinking about getting the second one but im not sure.

So one could play this one without playing any others in the series fine? I've never been a big fan of the series, but I've already got like all of the games I was going to ask for for Christmas, so this looks most promising next.

That's right, each of them is their own separate story. This one has absolutely nothing to do with the previous titles. Jump in!

Cool, thanks. Perhaps I'll add it to the list. I'm killing myself with my backlog though.

I got to listen to Cliff Martinez's score and well, this has got to be the worst soundtrack he's worked so far. The floaty magic that makes him him is completely gone and it's just some generic EDM stuff, and this is coming from a guy who plans to watch every film he's worked on. Martinez has got to be the only draw for Far Cry 4 for me, and with that gone, I'm not buying this game until it hits a bargain bin.

This kind of outrage could be spared if you don't wait until a few days before release for people to find out. Especially since it is a feature that is in every Far Cry.

But its much easier to just throw the entitled card out there.

That thread is actually only a 21 page thread with a little over 200 posts, and some bonehead in there thinks that the 12,500 views the thread has gotten was from unique users. I get that people who were into it are upset, and it is a questionable decision, but from the sounds of things most people were pretty upset over what the actual MP was to begin with, so who would want to spend time making maps for a crappy MP component anyways?

Do you really buy games based solely on the composer of the soundtrack? Thats weird bruh...

Game looks so fun and I loved FC3. No interest in MP.

That trailer, is that mostly real time destruction or just triggering cut scenes? If the former, wow!
