People forget how good Killzone 2 was when it came out.
All subsequent Killzone games have had short development cycles.
Even at best that game was a long time ago, and even then, many liked KZ3 better.
A AAA game is determine by its budget and level of promotion(that means marketing by the way). Yes, they are 'expected' to sell well and they are 'expected' to be high quality pieces of software.
A review scores has absolutely fook all to do with a game being AAA and neither does the amount of sales it actually manages to get.
I come into this thread and see nothing but arguments that both consoles are crap with no good games, yet I turn on both and I dont have enough time to play all the games I own and enjoy. /smh [HASHTAG]#bothwinning[/HASHTAG]

I'm still holding out hope. They've only released 2 Killzone games after that and each had short dev cycles plus Killzone 3 was pretty good (just too samey).
I like the genre. I like the universe. I'm hoping they just take their time with the next Killzone.
You'd think people would be happy with all the win but I just can't understand how anyone can find happiness in an xbox console. It defies logic.

I remember a time when AAA meant quality, not budget.
Honestly, going by size of budget tells me that AAA means nothing now. The most important thing about games is how fun they are. Way too many big budget games lack that quality fun that is more important to a gamer, so using AAA as a badge of some kind of stupid honor means nothing to me.

Fun is subjective. I do not find Halo fun, does that mean it isn't a AAA game, of course not.
Just because a game is AAA doesn't mean it is guaranteed to be a good game.
Guide to next gen game lineups:
Like shootbangs, racing, or open world? Xbox has higher rated games in those genres, and more of those types of games upcoming.
Like literally any other gaming genre, or better performing multiplats? PS4 has higher rated games in those genres, and more of those types of games upcoming.

Never heard of a shootbang genre, and when did open world become a genre.
Of course it's subjective, never said otherwise. However, the problem is that way too often, people use the "my console has more AAA games so it's better" war cry. I'm countering that "AAA" doesn't really matter when trying to make a game line up comparison. Games are games, period, and me personally, I don't care whether or not a game is AAA. I also don't care which has more AAA games. I also don't care which has more indies, so it goes both ways. I care about which ones have games that I find appeal to me more.
Period.
Neither console is better than the other. Neither one has a better lineup than the other. It's a weird discussion to have.
Yes and no. Alot of things is subjective that's true, but there are times, when one thing can be better than the others (depends on factors of course).
To say no one is better than another person in doing a thing, or no product is better than the other, is only 'political correct'. Its often a means to avoiding comparison.
Chelsea (leader in Premier league) is better than Liverpool (6 or 7 position) currently.
Its perfectly fair statement & no one should be worry to say this. However, that doesn't mean you are dumb to support Liverpool, or Liverpool fans are losers, & should start supporting Chelsea. There is a word for such people, Glory hunters. Also Chelsea fans should be classy & not mock Liverpool fans. You can be fans of either club & exercise mutual respect.
It will be sad when we cannot express our real opinions & choose a more political correct answer, either not to upset people, or avoiding backlash or personal attack.
If we want to have a comparison thread, then we must accept that people can say they prefer one over the other. If we disagree with his view, then we should provide reasonable, counter-arguments (in a classy manner). People can then discuss with an open minded from both side of the arguments.

I agree with you in terms of the whole quality vs quantity ethos, but one of those is subjective, while the other isn't.
That is actually not true. One thing is always better than another. For example, the Xbox one line-up is far superior to me. The problem here is that we once again run into a subjective discussion. Which as we all know is something that seems too complex for forums to handle.
We're not talking about winners or losers, or rankings....that's what the sales thread is for. I'm talking about how some propose this idea that one console is better than another due to this idea of how many AAA exclusives it has. That does not, in any way shape, or form make one console better than the other as a fact, but rather better in just one's personal opinion.
You said it yourself, accepting that people prefer one over the other, and that is 100% correct. Not this idea that one is better than the other as fact because of number of games. For example, if I said PC was a better platform because it had more exclusives, means nothing to anyone here, if most of those games were crap. Now, had I said PC is better for me because I prefer those indie games, then that's different. See, it's how the statement is presented that changes the intent of the statement.
