Games that didn't live up to the hype...

Don't agree.

While I do think Forza is the better game nowadays thanks to the amazing levels of polish and T10 prioritising gameplay over visuals, it isn't well beyond Gran Turismo at all.

Both franchises seems to have hit a baron spell of evolution and innovation.

Despite my disappointment in Gran Turismo:Sport's visuals and sound which don;t seem current-gen at all, I am excited about their new Competitive Racing direction. This is something I want for Froza.

The current League system and single player "story" of Forza is, well, s***. It needs a proper league system implemented where more time to play doesn't = winner. And the single player campaign would be far better if it utilised the car groups and had a proper race season set up. You could even have progressions from things like MX 5 Cup league to Touring Cars to GT racing to Le Mans, etc. But also keep it open so people can jump straight in to whatever from the start. Some rules and flags would be nice, and some goddamn penalities for track cutters and serial rammers is needed too.

Both franchises have issues and room for massive improvement.
Why can't they just tack on a rally element, like wrc? It can't be that hard to make/model/record new cars, design new vista like tracks, and completely rehaul the physics!

And chuck in a crash mode. Have you guys heard of this new game, Truck Dismount? You place a man on top of a truck, and crash it into a wall! It reminds me of my high school graduation!

There's also Stair Dismount, but that reminds me of my primary school graduation, where the old lady is pushed down a flight of stairs.

The most disappointing game for me is The Elder Trolls: Flynnblivion. I can't even get through that one, even though I buy the story more than Val's, where the gameplay makes up for the ridiculousness of his story. ;)

Oh. Right.

I never really got into the GTA series. I tried a couple of them, and it just got kind of dull relatively quickly. I know better than to say they're not good games, just that the little bit I've tried hasn't ever made me feel like finishing them.

Minecraft, too. I haven't actually played it, though, so that's more of just based on having seen way too much of it on the E3 shows.

Damn how did I guess his original game was Last Guardian. These troll threads are so unoriginal anymore. Flynn take a longer break and really think more on how to troll better.

Death stranded didn't live up to the hype because the trailer didn't have enough colour.

every single playstation 4 exclusive and I am beyond serious. Well Uncharted 4 was better than i thought so it don't count.

I remember when EGM talked up Eternal Champions something like a Street Fight killer for preview after preview. Oh was I disappointed and never looked at game mags the same. Sega CD Eternal Champions is shockingly alright though.

Man I was so stoked for that game (Sega CD version) back in the day, and boy did it hum the dogs balls. I bought it again a few years ago, and man what a turd. I can't believe the load times in between fights and during the executions/vendettas/overkills etc. That's saying nothing about the horrors of the rest of the game...

The ones that come to mind for me are Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Fable(s), Halo 2, Beyond: Two Souls, and all the GTAs past the third.

Pretty much every Resident Evil Games after part 4. Oh yeah Lair too. What a s***ty game.

The most hyped game by fans got to be Too Human. End of story.

Advent Rising
Halo 2 and 3
GTA IV
Too Human
Fable Series
Killzone (the Halo killer)

I usually kinda get what I expect when getting into a game. Only real exceptions are when they are better than expected.

That said, I will list a game that I really love, because it at once went in a direction I wanted, but still missed an opportunity to go to that next level-

Halo 5.

I think they nailed the control evolution, but had some ideas that were too half baked ( I'm looking at YOU, walk and talk sections!)

Tomb Raider 2013 - "It's Skyrim with guns except it is nothing like an RPG or like Skyrim."

- The Order 1886
- Street Fighter 5

Was Too Human really *that* hyped? I mean, I was into it from the video trailer thing where they were digging up the Gremlins in Norway or whatever, but I always thought that it was one of those games that there was a small group of people jonesing for and a lot of people who would just go "oh, yeah, that" if asked about it.

Every single PC exclusive ever and i'm beyond serious. Well World of Warcraft was better than i thought once i accepted i would have acne for the rest of my life so it don't count.
