Ghost Recon: Wildlands

That looks cool to me. Games can still be tactical and fast moving. I think I remember you had to plot each movement on the old GR games, and while that's good for tickling the gray matter, real ground operations are more on the fly and unknown without extreme intelligence. It would be cool if you could recon a building and draw up a floorplan for a quick sandtable before taking a building.

I am not going to write the game off YET. I love Ghost Recon titles, and this is indeed a huge departure. I wanted them to go back to the original Ghost Recon days like Summit Strike.

They are never going back.

I'm digging what I'm seeing, but will wait for multiplayer reveal.

If it's match making again instead of a list of player controlled hosted lobbies will wait for a sale.

Ghost Recon has been native 3rd person for like 10 years now.... lol hasn't been native 1st person since OGR and its expansions.

Forgot about those awful things. At least we have R6 Siege anyway. It is possible to make a tactical cover shooter in the 1st person.

Tactical is a mind-set. Being tactical is about using your knowledge base to give you an upper hand in achieving an end-goal. COD can be tactical if you play it that way. The Division can be tactical if you play it that way.

To some extent, but 3rd person lets you "cheat" and see things you normally can't. Peek around corners or look over cover while never exposing yourself.

To any extent. The view, setting, genre, etc changes nothing. Like I said, it is a mind-set.

I think want you are really talking about is something being realistic. COD or the Division, or even recent Clancy games are far from realistic. Sounds like you want something more akin to the "sim" like ARMA franchise.

Yeah I think I just dislike 3rd person. I can deal in a few games but I want to aim down sights, not stare at butt :tounge:

Take Siege and put it outside and it would be great.

I'm diggin' what I'm seeing. Coop could be tons of fun, just glad they're not making it a bullet spongey grindy RPG like the Division... i was over that game REAL quick...

I've liked pretty much every change they've made with series. I've been playing them since the very first one on PC and I've yet to dislike any of them. They probably should've left the series the way it originally started and just made the more recent games into a different franchise entirely.

They could have easily kept the more realistic games and these more arcade types games under the same Clancy umbrella.

The reason they most likely didn't is because those more realistic games stopped selling well..and then we moved to the era of Gears of War and COD--and are still there.

I really don't understand the hate for this, it looks like a tactical, co-op version of just cause.

I see this game to ambitious for X1/PS4. Wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a 2017 Scorpio/Neo game.

My issue lies with the fact that I read somewhere that it didn't have competitive mp a feature that's been a staple for the series imo.
If it gets added....I will be all over this game.

If the games remained the same as the originals, I most likely would've moved on honestly.

Same here.

For shooters, I want first person view. Makes it more realistic, controls are more precise (third person games always have fidgety feel to moving), and third person camera is cheating too. Your guy has his head down behind a brick wall, yet you can still see what's in front of you. Then you can still pan the camera left, right, up and down and see even more.

That sure makes sense.

Then you can do "blind fire". Well, it's not so blind if you can still see who's in front of you while crouched behind a car.

And for third person games which zoom in a bit when your guy shoots, the side it takes doesn't even make sense either. If someone is shooting righthanded, the cam shows the character/gun on the left side, where the open side is also the right side. It should be the reverse. If someone is shooting a rifle righthanded, the open side with a better view should be his left side.

I will not buy until after launch. I will wait and see if it is a buggy turd like the division.

Like mgs5 but with co op, i feel is slightly more accurate.

Jumping on the "nervous optimism" here. I didn't buy the division but lots of others seem to enjoy it, so I guess maybe ubisofts getting better. maybe?

Even if it's a huge departure from the originals, if it's like the Division, then I'm ok with it. I doesn't bother me none that it has "ghost recon" in the title, all I care about is whether or not it's fun.

Gunsmith is confirmed as being in the game! Woohoo!!
