I don't know if it's true, haven't looked into it but I heard that God of War was never a particularly popular franchise in the UK so they seem to be off to a great start with this one, especially when you consider that no digital sales are counted in that 100K from the first two days.

While I enjoyed both of those games you listed I do agree that the gameplay could have been a little tighter, especially when it comes to their shooting mechanics. This game just has it all, the more I play it the more I like it and the more I don't want the experience to end lol.
No, 3G service doesn't even exist here. My service blocks tethering anyway.

I've read on reddit and gamefaqs that the game only runs in 1080p unless the game has the day one update? I know the update allows the choice between performance and resolution, but I figured the game would at least have 1080p/2160p since it lists it as PS4 Pro Enhanced on the case. I'll probably just take the game back if I can't get a definitive answer on this by the end of the week.

Don't know, I'm still very early on. He says in the article to play with normal UI for the early game, so you get used to it. I know what he means. There's a lot going on, on screen, especially for a first-time GoW player like me, so I need some time to absorb how the game communicates -- not to mention get competent at the combat, which I'm not -- before I try any of that.
I suppose that depends on the difficulty you play at or how fast you go. But when you get to an area called Lake of the Nine it starts to open up. It took me a good 10 hours + to get there. I’m playing on High difficulty.
Finished the main story tonight and loved it! still have some side missions to do thankfully, I'm not ready to let this game go yet 
I do hope they add a new game plus mode, I'd love to play through it a second time with all of the upgrades from the beginning.

loving the game so far. I did get lost as f*** for an hour on the lake as you had to make your way back to an area and it was a small ass cave behind something.
I love how Kratos attitude towards his son is changing as you go along. funny to see this guy who has killed so many and killed gods seems scared s***less of a kid and talking to him.
I'm like others this is a game I don't want to end. I will be sad when it does but I think I still got a long ass way to go as I'm taking my time.

Same here, not for an hour but I got lost. I think a little waypoint indicator popping up as you swipe the touchpad would go along way to help against that. I think that's my only complaint, its not always obvious where to go next. And when you're navigating these labyrinths its easy to get lost.
I got lost in fast travel. I kept running around in circles not knowing where to go and what to do, lol. I didn't realize that was the "loading" for fast travel.
I don't know. I thought God of War 3 was amazing until i played God of War. He should probably play 3 first if he doesn't want to ruin it. Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, and God of War have basically ruined gaming for me from here on out.
I know.. i hate when people say a masterpiece ruins future games for them. Well.. it kinda does. These games are so f***ing good you don't want to go back to mediocrity. You just don't. I seriously can't look at other games the same again.
I'm enjoying the game much better than I thought I would. Boy isn't as annoying as he originally seemed when i heard him in gameplay videos. I'm having trouble using the top buttons for everything during combat. I'm just leaving the first area and I'm really impressed with the visuals and the fight outside his home was really cool.
I was worried about the main control scheme before playing it, honestly it felt great after just a little while but everyone is different. As far as the son he is actually a great asset during gameplay especially after you get to upgrade him a bit and he's also helpful during exploration because he'll point things out to you. They really did an awesome job making him part of the game and not just a side character who either gets in the way or just gets on my nerves lol. I was also a bit worried about how I'd feel about him before the game came out but I really like the character a lot and I'm glad that the director got his way and was able to keep him in the game.
I'm glad you are getting to play it after, did you download the updates or are you just playing it without any patches?
