This is actually the exact same set I have lol
I bought it for 94.99 last year and it's been working rock solid since then.
Just make sure you get the XMP version if you're doing Intel CPU or the AMD equivalent if you're doing that. There are two versions.
Actually go for the 6400mhz version , it's the same price though the Cas is 32 but it's fine. You won't notice the diff in everyday tasks, I feel the extra speed is probably more beneficial. Though I've heard some AMD are picky and the 6000mhz is the sweet spot but don't quote me on that.
That's quite long. I would just get a new one to be safe. If you open it and it looks crumbly and hard then it's no good.

He went out today and bought the Intel i5 14600K. He was supposed to buy the RAM that's on sale but was consfused for some reason? And the PSU I wrote down is not on sale anymore.

Depends if you think the PSU will be super loud but I feel all the ones I've used have been pretty good. But I do use headphones so that is a factor.
I usually use 3dmark to check how my PC fares with other similar rigs on their userbase and also for overclocking GPU to see temps and fps gains.

I would get the Platinum as it is more power efficient, but that's just me. You can't go wrong with Corsair either.

Motherboard is installed. We're taking a break.
This stuff is easy, and yet........... case was a bit annoying because it has so many features. And it comes set up for a watercooling solution, but you can change all the motherboard mounts and back panel mount which moves it up. Well to do that you have to remove 9 mounts for the motherboard, but also remove 4 screws from the back panel on the case and flip it and screw it back in.
It took a while to do the back panel flip and I don't know if this can be done by one person.
Anyway, that is the progress and my dad is old and it's a beautiful sunny day and we both decided we can just take this slow, even though we could get this done in no time from this point.
No rush.
Really impressive motherboard though..........assuming it works.

Maybe I shouldn't post this, but there is a connection my dads motherboard with is what used to be the front panel pin connectors, but it's FINALLY just a plug.

In my mind I was like, it just needs a bit more slack, but it looked like it would’ve been enough once in. Your dad sounds like he’s got a warm English accent, whilst the one in the bg I’m gonna assume is your mum, has like a Wisconsin/mid-western accent. Great vid tho, I got like found footage vibes from it, or that one scene from signs where the camera drops and you just hear the scuffle and see the flashlight being kicked around…I think that was the movie, I could be mixing it up

You can use windows 10 without a license afaik . Not sure about 11 but my brother was using the free windows 10 for the longest time , you just have a tad less features to work with and some watermarks but he could game and use his desktop for virtually everything basically.
From a quick search , looks like win 11 is the same thing and you can take your time to look for a license at your own leisure.
