Justice League The Snyder Cut

People keep falling for these social media embargos they do with these movies. Happened with BvS and Wonder Woman.

Yeah they get early access just like game reviewers do and of course the studio is going to encourage them to talk about it positively that's just how it works, it doesn't mean that they have to.

She's usually a good source for reviews and she gets a lot of inside info, she can be a bit too easy on comic based movies, she wrote a series of comics so that's kind of her passion. I do believe this will be a lot better than the movie they put out before, Snyder also has had time to hear/see what didn't work with the previous release. I don't believe for a second that he hasn't watched it and he shot a lot of new content to go along with the stuff he had already filmed before. Supposedly there is talk of WB wanting him to do two more justice league films and to direct the next WW based on how much they like this now, we'll see how much of that is true and how much is BS soon enough.

Yeah but I am not talking about a normal embargo for press. They have one of those too. This is them having a separate embargo for fans that they know are much more likely to be positive. So its pretty much completely untrustworthy.

Martian Manhunter disguised as Martha Kent. Nice.

I am hearing that the movie is so much better than the theatrical cut. It's being compared to MoS by fans. Others disliking it for trivial s*** MoS was criticized for eg. Superman killing Zod.

Found this leak a few days ago.

Yep, seems to happen a ton lately. I've learned to take any preview opinion with a grain of salt. People are always afraid of losing their preview access.

There's also the "early access bias". I've never previewed a movie, but I've done private beta tests on games, and I notice I'm always more positive, because I was "involved" in the process (even minimally). It is like if an exclusive bar lets you in early, are you as likely to complain about the low quality booze or bad service?

Maybe the movie will be great... but I'm waiting for other people to spend 4 hours first.

The CGI looks.... Bad? At least from what I've seen in the trailer?
The CGI in the original release was some of the worst I've seen in a big budget movie, this looks fairly uneven as well but I think overall it will probably look better than the original release. The only shots I've seen in commercials that look terrible are the amazon's riding horses and a shot of cyborg looking at the camera with an obvious green screen image behind him.

Just read this review from NY Times. I wish these idiots would keep personal politics and ideologies out of a review. Sounds like my kind of movie. I've always enjoyed the animated DC movies which are pretty dark.

So here comes Superman, our hero ex machina: a white male Übermensch as the default image of hope and salvation, literally raised from the dead. Despite the other powerful, charismatic heroes on the roster (Gadot and Momoa are still intriguing to watch, even in the least flattering sequences), “Justice League” can’t see past the man with an S on his chest.

The story aims to give us a world where heroes come back to life, where they put aside their pride and reticence and self-interest to form an alliance. Even an antisocial orphan billionaire in a bat costume says he has faith in this. But what does the franchise hope for? More films, more crossovers, more money.

Hope isn’t manufactured. It can’t be limited to a shadow of a gesture or shouldered by one man whose extraordinary abilities are heralded in the “super” of his name.

Next week marks the start of spring, and people are heading to the park. People are getting vaccine shots. I probably don’t need to explain how hope looks right now, after the year we just had — and, in fact, for you it might look different. But I do know one thing, that it doesn’t look like the dead bodies of a villain and his henchmen at the end of a great saga. It’s something lighter, brighter — so much more than the dark.

I am so sick of that crap, anyone who includes a line like the first one you quoted in their writing should be ignored as far as I'm concerned. These are the same people who talk about Black Panther and Wonder Woman as if they are more than popcorn flicks and a fun escape, they make them out to be some huge step in a movement of some kind always ignoring the fact that we've had strong women in all forms of entertainment for decades as well as strong Black characters.

So it seems WB really f***ed up by rushing the other version out just so a couple of them could get a bonus.
They are still saying the other one is cannon but maybe the should backtrack on that.

Much better than what was released.

First hour was a bit slow and had a few scenes that felt like they would be post credit scenes in other movies but some really good action scenes and the soundtrack is fantastic.

Some iffy special effects as expected especially the nightmare scene towards the end but yeah happy it was released.
